Al Smith, Governor of New York State, was born very poorly. He had less education in school, but he worked very hard and won great successes. One day, he paid a visit for the state prison at Sing Sing. The head of the prison asked Mr. Smith say something to the prisoners. He has never spoken to this kind of audience before, so he did not know where to begin. Finally he said, “My fellow citizens…” and then he remembered that when a man goes to the prison, he is no longer a citizen. He began again, “My fellow prisoners…” That wasn’t sound right. It was 2:10 in the afternoon when I entered the classroom. I was surprising to see our teacher operating the video camera. Most of us have never been in front of a video camera before, but we were very nervous. As for myself, I had once faced it at home. My uncle shot as we were celebrating for my sister’s birthday. However, this was complete different. We had to talk about our articles as if we were reading news on TV. The funny thing was every time I tried to face the cameras and talked about my article, I forgot the article and couldn’t help look down at it. It was quite a different experience for me, thanks to our teacher.
