When I was a teenager I volunteered to work at the water station at a 10,000m race. My job was to 21 water to the runners. I remember being so 22to see all the different kinds of people who passed by and grabbed a cup of water. Some ran past, some walked past and a few wheeled past. I saw so many types of people doing it. I thought maybe I could do it too! So the next year I 23 up for the race.
That first 10,000m race was quite an 24 . I jogged, I walked, I jogged and I walked. 25, I didn’t know if I could finish. Then came a defining (决定性) 26.
At one point near the end, a 70-year-old man ran past me, very, very fast, and I felt 27 because I was 50 years younger than he but I couldn’t even keep up with him. I felt 28 for a second.
But then I 29 something. He was running his race and I was running mine. He had 30 abilities, experience, training and goals for himself. I had mine. Remember my 31 was only to finish.
After a minute, it 32me that this was a lesson I could draw from. I learned something about myself in that moment. I turned my embarrassment into 33 .
I 34 that I would not give up on running races. In fact, I would run even more races and I would learn how to train and prepare 35 and one day I would be one of those 70-year-old persons who were still running. As I crossed the finish line, I was proud of my 36 .
In life we all have those moments where we 37 ourselves to others. It’s only 38 . Don’t allow those moments to 39you. Turn them into motivation and let them inspire you. With the proper preparation and training, you can improve your result to 40 anything you want in life.

One Christmas Eve, my husband made his way home from work. 26 , he worked the entire day but let his stuff go 27 so that they could be with their families.

My husband stopped, and asked him where he was 31 . He wanted to go about five miles past our home, but my husband still told him to 32 . Over the years my husband 41 to give him a ride home whenever he saw him trying to get a ride. Nowadays air pollution is something that hardly question any more. However, I still can’t walk down the street in any of the big cities without 33that people are 34from the air pollution. It is time for the government departments of the world to introduce emission(废气排放) controls on all cars and 35the public transport system to encourage people to 36their cars at home. A friend of mine takes flying lesson each morning and it really makes him 37when he climbs above the smog layer(烟雾层) and looks down 38 it and thinks: “I’m breathing that!” This kind of 39results from the bad management of resources. Waste things can 40should, be treated properly. Road construction, House 41 , and industrial development are all earthmoving(earth-reducing) operations and can change the balances of 42created over millions of years. I would like to 43serious studies done on all these main works before they are built. Also, there should be 44national parks set up to keep the most beautiful parts of countries in their natural 45 .
