第一节：短文改错（共10小题；每小题1分，满分10分）
此题要求改正所给短文的错误。对标有题号的每一行作出判断：如无错误，在该行右边横线上划一个勾（√）；如有错误（每行只有一个错误），则按下列情况改正：
该行多一个词：把多余的词用斜线（\）划掉，在该行右边横线上写出该词，并也用斜线划掉。
该行缺一个词：在缺词处加一个漏字符号（^），在该行右边横线上写出该加的词。
该行错一个词：在错的词下划一横线，在该行右边横线上写出改正后的词。
注意：原行没有错的不要改。

Miss Evans taught physics in school in London．Last month she was explaining to one of her class about sound ，and she decide to test them to see what successful she had been in her work．She said to them， “Now I has a sister in Washington． If I called her by the phone， and you were on the other side of the street． Who would hear me first， my sister and you？ And why？” A clever boy at once answered， “You sister， Miss Evans， because the electricity travels much faster than sound waves．” “Very well，” Miss Evans praised．

One day, Henry Adams, the American businessman , was lost in London. He didn’t know what to do when two old and wealthy brother met him. They found that Henry arrived London by accident and he had no money. They gave him a letter and told him to open it until two o’clock. Before long, Henry , who was in rags, went into a restaurant .He ate as a wolf. In two o’clock, when he opened the letter, he was surprising but the waiter and the owner was shocked. I have been having problems with my parent these days because they always expect me do better even though I am a very good student in my class. They care too many about the exams but often ask my teachers about my grades. When I get the second place or the third one in test, they keep asking me,“Why ? You should be carefully next time.” So I begin to fear the exams. I don’t want to take part in some exams now .Now it hurt me to see them acting in this way. I think no matter how harder I try, it never seems to be enough .Am I wrong ? Now I don’t know that what I should do.

A few months after return to the U. S. from Germany, I took part a college course in French. Since I have learned to say German well in Germany, I thought it might be interested to begin studying another language. At the first class, the teacher asked us to do a pronunciationexercise, in it he would say a word or two in French, and each student would do their best to copy. When my turn came, he kept having me to say more words, and I finally asked him why. "I find great fun, "he explained . "In 25 years of teaching at school, it's the firsttimethat I have heard a American speak French with a German accent(口音) ."
