One day I was dining with my friend Zhou in McDonald when two young girls came in hand in hand. While enjoyed a hamburger, I found Zhou looking around at something strangely.
I raised my eyes to see what was happening. The two girls are making gestures skillfully. Obviously they were deaf-mutes. I had learned some sign languages ago, so I showed various gestures with Zhou following me in low spirits. We played and laughed cheerfully as if there had no one else present. Suddenly we saw both the two girls glaring at us. Before we could explain to them, they had walked out angrily, left the food unfinished. They thought we were making joke of them. How I regretted!

Jack London had a very hardly life. He born in San Francisco on January 12, 1876. In 1893 he become a sailor. For the next four years he fought and working his way around the world. It is over 3 year now since I began study English. At first I found it very difficult. I couldn’t get most of the sounds right, spell the words correctly and remember the rules of the grammar. Under the help of my English teacher and classmates, I have made many progress. Now I am getting well with my English study. Three years’ study have taught me that one can’t learn English well without working hard. We should do more listening and speaking both in and out of the class. At the same time, we must pay enough attention to read as well as writing. Only on this way can we get the best result in the shortest time.
