My father and I stayed at the South Lake Hotel for a week when we visit Beijing
last month. It is in the downtown area, but it is easy to go to anywhere from the hotel by public transport. We lived in a comfortably double-room with a big bath. What I liked best were the free high-speed Internet connection in the room. I checked my email messages every day. I also shared for my friends many photos taking in Beijing. The food was wonderful with reasonable prices, and we enjoyed several local dish. It is such great hotel that I would recommend it to any friend of me who is going to Beijing.

Today is my Dad’s birthday. This afternoon I went to the shopping center downtown and bought present for him. Then I take the subway train home. During the summer vacation I think I should do something meaningfully instead of touring. So I got a job at a fast food restaurant and worked there for a cleaner. I work 7 hours a day for three weeks. The job was bored and seemed endless, that made me so tired that I nearly stopped it halfway. After all,I stuck to it with determination. I’m the captain of our school team so with my fellow players we’ve won several games. There will an important game next month. But one of the best player in our team told me just then that he wouldn’t play basketball once more. His parents asked him to spend in more time preparing for the college entrance examination. I feel sorry to him.
But his parents think go to college is more important than playing sports and college was the only place for a smart boy like his son. So my friend had no choice. He wanted to make their parents happy.
