此题要求改正所给短文中的错误。如无错误,在答题卡相应的位置上画一个勾(√);如有错误(每行只有一个错误),则按下列情况改正:

Dear editor,
Some years ago, my hometown was used to be a beautiful place. Thick trees and grass can be seen all over the hills. As time going by, people destroyed almost the whole forest grow more crops. To make matters worse, people let their cattles eat up the grass. So you can only see wasteland instead green forests now. As a result of, when it rains, the soil is washed down the hills and into the rivers. Strongly winds also blow away the valuable soil lie on the top of the fields.
I do hope all the people will take good care of the forests but plant more trees to improve our living conditions.

With the summer vacation coming around, many school
leavers feel it the great chance to enjoy themselves. Most
of my classma
te have plans to travel, which can broaden
their views and increase their life experience. There are
also some students would like to work as volunteers in
the communities. Beside, quite a few students want to learn
to drive, dance or cook by attending summer
classes.
As for me, I am looking forward to spend this precious time
with my family before I left for my college. Hopefully, I can
do something in return for our parents' love and care.

College students have few ways to pay their college fees. Many students have their parents to do it. Some students may apply to a bank loan and others will try to find part-time jobs in and out of the campus. Apart from this, many good student can win a scholarship, in this way they can pay at least part of the fees. As to me, I will let my parents pay half of their fees because they are that rich. Beside my study, I will take up a part-time job by teach some high school students math, physics, chemistry and English, as I’m very good at these important subjects. Of course I will also work very hard at my lessons in order to I can easily win a scholarship.

Once, lately at night, an Englishman came out of his room into a pas
sage of the hotel and ask the servant to bring her a glass of water. The servant did like he was asked. The Englishman returned his room, and a few minutes later he came into the passage again and once more asked the servant a glass of water. Every a few minutes the Englishman would come out of his room and repeated his request. After half an hour the astonishing servant decided to ask the man what he was doing with the water. "Nothing," he answered calmly. “It's simply that the room is on fires.”
