第一节：短文改错(共10小题。每小题1分，满分lO分。)
此题要求改正所给短文中的错误。对标有题号的每一行作出判断，如无错误，在该行右边的横线上画一个勾(√)；如果有错误(每行只有一个错误)，则按下列情况改正：
此行多一词：把多余的词用斜线(＼)划掉，在该行右边横线上写出该词，并也用斜线划掉。
此行缺一词：在缺词处加一个漏字符号(∧)，在该行右边横线上写出该加的词。
此行错一词：在错词下划一横线，在该行右边横线上写出改正后的词。
注意：原行没有错的不要改。

In order to realize his dream, Bill Gates, richest man in the world, gave up studying in Harvard University, that is the most famous in the world. He set up a company and researching the computer software. As an old saying go, “Interest is the best teacher.” I quite agree with this idea. I began to be crazy about English when I was a little girl. I got extreme interested in foreign cultures or customs. To meet me curiosity, I read in English stories every day. It seemed to be the best “meal” of a day. As a result, I always did very well in English exam. Interest is the key of success.

In additional, the environment is getting worse and worse, and there is pollution and traffic problems as well as. We can’t choose but face with them. In my opinion, big cities need to control the population to help develop itself for the future. In terms of improving the environment, every citizen should be called on to contribute to protect the environment.

I have been planning to join in our college basketball team next year, so now I am spending as more time as I can with other people who likes to play. They are teaching me the most important rules and technologies of the game, and I am getting the better all the time. We have a neighborhood team that play against other teams in the area. One of my neighbors is helping rest of us improved our skills. Tonight we are playing against one of the best teams in the city, and I think we can win them if we won't make any mistakes.

All of us know the old saying “Practice make perfect.” It tells us unless we want to realize our aim, we should practise, and one day we will make it. It’s easy to understand. Once I wanted to learn swimming. At first I found difficult to control my body. I just sank into the water. I feel very frightened. Then I watched others who were good at them and asked them the key to succeed. I went to the swimming pool every day, learned from them and practised. A day, when my friend pushed me into the swimming poo1, I sudden found that I could swim. How exciting I was! Now I can swim much more better than before.

I watch TV until 12 o’clock, so I could not go over my lessons. This
morning I got up very late that I had to go to school without breakfast
in hurry but I was late for the first class. When I entered the classroom, the
maths teacher had to stop explain an important problem, and all the eyes
fixed upon me. My face turned red. Something even worse was happened to
me in English class. The teacher asked me to recite the text, yet I could speak
nothing but sorry, for I did not spend any time preparing my lessons. The
teacher looked at me with his coldly eyes. I stood at my bench without dare
to raise my head. How a terrible day I had! I will never do anything like this.
