Audrey Hepburn was born on May 4,1929 in Brussels, Belgium. Her father was a wealthy English banker. After her parents divorced, Audrey went to London with her mother where she went to a private girls school. While vacationing with her mother in Holland, Hitler’s army suddenly took over the town. It was here that she fell on hard times during the Nazi occupation. After the liberation, Audrey went to a ballet school in London on a scholarship and later began a modeling career. As a model, she was graceful and , it seemed ,she had found her niche in life-----until the film producers came calling. After being spotted modeling by a producers, she was signed up for a bit part in the European film Nederlands in 7 lessons in 1948. Later, she headed to America to try her luck there.

This gained her enormous popularity and more plum (令人垂涎的) roles. Roman Holiday was followed by another similarly wonderful performance in the 1957 classic Funny Face (1957). In 1959, she received yet another nomination (提名) for her role in Nun’s Story. Audrey reached the top of her career when she played Holly Golightly in the film Breakfast at Tiffany’s in 1961. For this she received another nomination. One of Audrey’s most radian impressive roles was in the fine production of My Fair Lady in 1964. Her co-star Rex Harrison once was asked to identify his favorite leading lady. Without hesitation, he replied, “ Audrey Hepburn in My Fair Lady”.
By the end of the sixty, after her divorce from actor Mel Ferrer, Audrey decided to retire while she was on top. Later she married Dr. Andrea Dotti. In 1988, Audrey became a special ambassador to the United Nations UNICEF fund helping children in Latin American and Africa, a position she stayed until 1993. She was named to People’s magazine as one of the 50 most beautiful people in the world. Audrey Hepburn died on January 20,1993 in Switzerland. She had made a total of 31 high quality movies.

Fear can be a wonderful feeling in our lives, protecting us from dangerous situations an
d keeping us safe. But fear can also limit our lives significantly. While it may not be conscious, fear may make us think we are unacceptable or that what we have to offer isn’t valuable. Fear may make us feel that we are not safe being ourselves.
To avoid feeling fear, we may limit our lives greatly, living in tiny boxes. Living this way gives us the illusion(假象) of safety but leaves us with an unfulfilling life of no passion. If we shine a light on many of our fears, we see they have a very limited view of what is “safe” and how to “protect” us. Many of our fears are concerned only with protecting us from humiliation(羞辱) and failure. While these fears are doing their jobs incredibly well, they are doing so with faulty and outdated programming. Many fears we have as adults are trying to protect us as they protected us when we were children. Indeed, many of our current, automatic reactions to fear were actually formed when we were children.
Even so, it’s important not to judge ourselves for feeling these types of fears. If we judge ourselves, we will bury our fears or disguise them. By denying our fears, however, we also deny our energy, creativity and passion.
So what do we do with fear? We recognize the fear for what it is--- a feeling we’ve experienced many times in the past and a feeling we will experience many times in the future. We become very familiar with our own particular brand of fears and how we allow them to control our lives. It is especially beneficial for each of us to become aware of the particular behavior patterns we’ve adopted when we feel fear, so we can look at our reactions with a sense of humor and compassion. Then, if we wish, we can choose a different response, which can be a scary yet very exciting experience.
