I often quarrel about my mother over whether I can watch TV after school. She holds view that senior three students have to make fully use of every minute to work hard at their lessons. It seems to me that once I am allowed to do that, I’ll unable to control myself and forget all about my study. She also thinks it is bad for my eye. But I really can’t accept her ideas. In my opinion, watch TV can set my mind at rest after a day’s hard works. Besides, it is important for us to know what had happened at home and at abroad. Thus, we shouldn’t be forbidden to watch TV.

Once，lately at night，an Englishman came out of his room into the passage of the hotel and ask the servant to bring her a glass of water.The servant did as he asked.The Englishman reentered his room，and a few minutes later he came into the passage again and once more asked the servant a glass of water.Every few minutes the Englishman would come out of his room and repeat his request.After a half hour the astonished servant decided to ask the man what he was doing with the water.“Nothing，” he answered calmly,“It’s simply that the room is on fire.”
One afternoon, when I was on my way home, the sky changed suddenly . Dark clouds were gathered . Upon our arrival, we gave a warm welcome to the American students, among them a boy named Tim was to stay with my family for the weekend. I recognized Tim compared him with photo he had sent to me. Tim greeted me and expressed that how excited he felt. When school was over, we took the subway home. My parents prepared a rich family dinner that night and we had enjoyed ourselves so much, eating and chatting. The next day, I act as a guide, showing Tim along the most famous scenic spots in Beijing. Wherever he went, he had some photos take to help him memorize this unforgettable trip to China.
