How are you? As a exchange student, I am writing to tell you I would prefer to move into a single room in next term, as I find it inconvenient to share a room with others. My roommate often held parties at night, made much noise. Besides, his friends are always visiting him, that disturbs me a lot. So I hope to draw your attentions to this problem. If you think in my position, I am sure he will agree that the only solution for me is get a room of my own, one not in the same building and as near to the school campus as possible. Though great progress have been made in science these years, there are still many people live in poor conditions. They make their lives by collecting or selling used things. Their children cannot go to school because they had not enough money to send their children there. How do you think so many people still suffer from poverty now? The answer lies on the population explosion﹙人口大爆炸﹚. A president of a developing country once said, “It is us who are to blame for the poverty because we used to ‘produce’ child without limit.” Although this few words sound simple enough, they have clear pointed out one of the causes of the population explosion.

A Frenchman was once visiting London．He wished to take a walk to see a city．But he was afraid he might get lost because he knew no words of English．So before he left his hotel, he stopped in the first corner and carefully copied in his notebook the names of the street that he was staying．Then he walked on．At last, he got being lost．After several hours he found a policeman．The Frenchman tried his best to explain the policeman that he didn’t know the name of his hotel, and he knew the name of the street．He then showed the policeman that he copied in his notebook．It was read: “One-way street”．
On one summer night, Henry was sleeping in his room when suddenly he woke up and sensed that something unusual. He looked out of the window and finding a store nearby on the street was in fire. He immediately shouts at the top of his voice “Fire! Fire! Help!” He phoned 119 at once and then went out to put out fire. but it was very big a fire that he couldn’t put it out by himself. Lucky enough, a lot of neighbours came out and soon firefighters arrived. The fire was finally put out and when the firefighters praised Henry his quick action, he smiled, feeling very pleasing.

Before I started at university, I got my first job as a waiterat a restaurant. At the night before my first working day,I was excited to fall asleep and as a result, I got up latethe next morning. As a teenager, I remember Dad get home lately every night. He already
had a great work and loved by his students. He took years to finish
that he wanted. And now, decades later, I see myself for him. I go to work
throughout the week and then came the weekend. I go to class for six hours
on Sunday so I can finish my degree that I started twenty years ago. It took
me the long time to figure out that what I wanted. I want to do for student
what my father did for students. In my opinion, my father is my real hero.
