It is special pleasure to welcome our new staff member, Mr Tony White, who has come here to America.
Mr White has recently graduated from the University of Chicago where he has majored in English Literature and minored in Teaching English as the Second Language. He will working with us here for at least two years.
One of the goals of our school are to promote understanding and cooperation between the young people of our two countries. By have Mr White, who is willing to sacrifice the comfort of his friends and family to come to a strange country, we feel we are very lucky and our goals will be easily realized.

We middle school students have had many tests or exam. We have achieved success and suffer failure. Different students take different attitudes to failure. Some is in low spirits when they don’t do well in the exams. They usually lose their heart and no longer study so harder as before. But most students take an active attitude towards failure. They encourage themselves to be confidently. They try to find out but analyse the causes so that they will no longer make same mistakes. I agree with those which have active attitudes. As we are all know, failure is the mother of success.

Recently I have read an article in a magazine．It was of a mother who was worried about her son just because of he always kept his hair long．The mother thought that was not right，but the son felt there was nothing unusually about it．Different generations have different opinion on the same thing．That is what is meaning by “the generation gap”．We can see them in our daily lives．Most of our parents like listening to old songs when young people prefer pop songs．Every time my father finds me listen to rock music，he always shouted, “Shut it off. A visitor visits an island where two tribes live. One tribe always tells the truth and an other always lies. The truth tellers live on the western side of the island, and those which lie live on the eastern side. The visitor wants determine whether the native beside he is a truth teller or not by ask only one question. He asks the native, “Go or ask the native in the distance which side of the island he lives to.” When the messenger returned, he says, “He said he lives on the western side of the island.”
Is the messenger a truth teller or not one? How can the visitor be surely?
