While eating lunch with my 4-year-old daughter this afternoon at a fast food restaurant, I noticed an old man walking to the table with a stick. The manager kindly carried the food for him. During the meal I 36 the man tell a woman it was his 37 . So I 38 what I heard to my daughter. She loves it when people have birthdays. I told her it was OK for her to wish him a happy birthday. He 39 was spending this special day alone.
At first she was 40 and decided against it. As I was 41 our plates into the dustbin she turned to him and quietly 42 him a Happy Birthday. I could tell he was 43 by the way he looked at her. I 44 behind her and gave him my own wishes. He was grateful.
45 we walked away he called my daughter back and 46 her a brand-new gold $1 coin. She thanked him. But that wasn't enough for him. He 47 his pocket and at that I kindly told him that wasn't 48 . He ignored me and 49 out an envelope with about a dozen of a different kind of gold coins. He continued to give her another one and tell her how 50 it was and that one day it would be worth 51 . He then 52 me in the eye and wished me a good day.
What a kind man. I'm sure my daughter 53 his day. On such a special day, 54 can I take away his glory and 55 his offering of thanks?

Childish Voice
When I was a young child, my parents often told me that it was time to teach a man everything. I didn't understand and wondered why had such a big influence
a person. I thought I could grow up quickly to find it out as an adult. But now,
I come to knock at the door of adulthood, I feel
to express my own
on this saying. I know that I'm just a high school student with very
experiences. There are still many things
me in the future, yet I would like to express myself in a childish voice.
I once read this sentence: "To make this world a happy place to live, you'd better yourself and your heart, instead of the whole world." I was shocked. It made me think about life
. There are so many things around us that
our will. We can't force life
our wishes. The earth won't stop turning no matter whether we
it or not. What we can do is just to make ourselves
the world. I think we should learn to accept
life gives us, no matter whether it's the spring sunlight or the winter snowfall, and try to be happy.
Deeply moved by the pop song Grandmother (by Jay Chou), I always try to every pleasant thing in my life, but now I see I don't catch most of the pleasant moments. It is more
that they slip by and leave you feeling
. I realize that I'm not just living
myself and that there are the others around me I should think of. They all pay attention to my growing up, even if it's just a little progress.
Everyone has his or her own attitude towards life, be it positive or . It doesn't matter, I think. There is one
that should be obeyed and that's to make this world better.

Take a Slow Walk
By Zero Wu
As an Indian saying goes, he who walks too fast needs to take a , waiting for his soul to catch up.
I am the one who walk too fast. Lost in life, with a fast-paced lifestyle, I hurried on with my journey until some day I began to learn to take a (3) walk.
I sometimes doubt myself what I insist on and give upon is totally different from of other people and whether I have no sense of fear about it. In my prelife, I must be a riding a horse galloping (驰骋) freely all over the world. in present life, I am a woman of iron will a man. With prelife's blood flowing inside, I can at any time carry my bag to take on my long-time adventure.
As a child, I always myself buried in books and naively (天真烂漫地) thought, cup of tea and book in hand, I was in a paradise, for I always bore in mind that " tea can intoxicate (使陶醉) me, why need I drink wine? Now that books can make the room sweet, why are flowers ?"
I am a person who has just begun to take a slow walk, my own stories as "fables" of a person who has the courage to take my free-willed journey (14) the massive land; who has been from any intense feelings along with worries; who has learnt to take a after getting deeply drunk; who will let go if the "bird" in heart has to fly away; who wishes to live in the afterlife as a tree described by Chen Danyan thoughts or pains; who long keeps smiles and inner peace, although crowded on the subway train.
I leave behind the speech that I have for lives around the lips at which overgrows wild grass. I might as well bury it in a small garden, or my emotion to it, dismissing the sweet of life to my ever-lastingly meaningful written words.

Neil was a remarkable character who knew just when to beand just when to adopt a lighter touch when handling children. Not everyone is so

from teacher training college and had just begun to work as a teacher. On his first day at the school he was left to do playground duty on his own, rather a( n)

by a teacher, his face fell.
for this boy, Russell remembered the story about Neil. Stooping down he picked up a stone and propelled(投掷)it through another window. Turning to smile proudly at the boy, his satisfaction was suddenly shattered by the sound of dozens of windows being
by flying stones.
Unfortunately he had failed to take into account the difference between his and the one which Neil had faced, namely that he and the boy were not alone. It was at this point in his career that Russell decided that perhaps he was not quite cut out to be a teacher. Deciding after this that he was not suited to teaching he left to
playwriting. Most of his plays are very imaginative and
