I was walking down the road one day when my cellphone rang. I heard a little girl on the other end 36 ,“Dad, please come back soon. I miss you so much!” Because I just have a little 37 , I knew it was a wrong number. So I rudely 38 “you’ve dialed the wrong number!”and then 39 .
During the following days, I got the same call 40 .But I didn’t care much about it.
Then one day she continually called me, 41 I didn’t answer. In the end, I answered the phone and heard a torpid(有气无力的) voice, “ Dad, please come back. I miss you so much! Dad , I m 42 so much pain! Mom said you were too busy to take 43 of me. But, Dad ,please 44 me again, OK?” The kind of 45 was difficult to reject. I made a loud kiss on the phone and heard the 46 voice say, “Thank you … Dad , I am so … happy…”
Shortly after this, I became 47 about who had been on the other end of my phone. So I called back, and a woman answered, “Sorry, sir. I am really sorry to have 48 you. My daughter has suffered from bone cancer 49 she was born. And her father … died in a(n) 50 last week. I 51 not tell her the news. Poor baby. When she couldn’t 52 the painful chemotherapy(化疗), she would cry for her dad, who had always 53 her.
I really cou
ldn’t bear it, so I gave her a random(任意的)phone number …”
“How is your daughter now?” I couldn’t 54 to ask.
“She has 55 . You must have kissed her on the phone, because she went with a smile,” she said, “and I am glad that she gets rid of the pain and stays with her father forever.”
I couldn’t keep my tears back.

I hear a lot of people talking about New Year’s resolutions(新年计划). Some say, “I can’t keep them and I never make resolutions.” Perhaps the real is that we have trouble changing. We get in our way of life and even if things aren’t good, they are familiar.
As the years go by, our resolutions seem to lose some . In spite of the fact that my own eagerness seems to , I still like the idea of making resolutions. It is the of not giving up that is important.
I think of the year like a carpet of new fallen snow that has not yet been by footprints or marks of any kind. It before us so perfect and beautiful, but it won’t remain that way for long. we know it, we must get out in the snow and make our own marks and tracks. Soon, we will see all kinds of and paths in the snow. We will see everything from , icy mud to the prints of snow angels made by children at play.
It’s all part of our . As we close out the old year, a new set of months lies ahead of us and we think, “Maybe, just maybe I can do .” Perhaps, this time, we can lose those pounds, a bad habit, improve our behavior, build a better relationship. Even though there are situations in our lives that can get us , we can look forward to beginning again and doing what we can do to our lives according to how we are able.
As the New Year comes around, what kind of marks will you make in the ?

When I was a small boy my family was very poor. My father always used his savings to my mother to visit her parents who lived far away. There was just my younger brother and myself in the house. One evening Dad came home from and there was no food in the house, not a piece of bread. Although we were , my brother and I went to bed without eating anything.
My father had no money, but I knew from the on his face that he could not let us have an empty stomach. He the house and about two hours later returned and quickly us up. He had in his hand two small potato pies, which he gave us to eat. I don't know where he got the but somehow he to get us something to eat.
My father had not eaten and had worked all day he sat there with great satisfaction watching us eat. This has stayed in my mind and left more of an impression than any amount of he may ever have given me.
At that moment, I felt happy knowing that he was there and would not let us .
I guess the I am trying to make is that in difficult times it is not to show weakness but strength and character. If a is the cement (粘合剂) that holds a family together, then the father is that strengthens that cement.
It is his values and and memories that have carried me forward and helped me to my own problems in life. In my own I have learned that it is the valuable time you spend with your children and the values you give to them that will remain with them always.

Do you know how much your children sleep?
According to the National Sleep Foundation, should sleep twelve to eighteen hours of every twenty-four. With a gradual to twelve to fourteen hours for toddlers(初学走路的孩子) one to three; eleven to thirteen hours for three to five; and ten to eleven hours for schoolchildren five to ten.
But things get really at adolescence. Not only do teenagers need more sleep than __---eight and a half to nine and a quarter hours a night, according to the sleep foundation - but the times which they get sleepy and are able to awaken and feel rested shift in a that does not match to the times at most schools.
Sleep studies have shown that the typical teenager does not fall asleep readily before 11 p. m. or later. many have to get up by 6 a. m. or to get to school for a class starts at 7:30 or 8 a.m. More than a few off during that class, and often the one as well. Even if awake, they're in no condition to learn much of anything.
In one study, more than 90 percent of teenagers they slept less than the nine hours a night, and 10 percent said they slept less than six hours.
_ James B. Maas, a Cornell University psychologist and Leading sleep researcher, has observed, most teenagers are "walking zombies(僵尸)" they get far too little sleep.

As a teacher.I often make it a rule that when we are on a field trip, there will be no talking aswe enter a building. This rule to entering any place, whether it is a cinema,a church,a theatre, or any other place.
Once,in New York City,I took my class to see a(n) near Times Square. When we
arrived at the theatre, there were about twenty other classes outside waiting to get in.The students from the other schools were not and there was pandemonium(乌烟瘴气).I told my students to stay in a line and keep .I told them that we would not carry ourselves like those other . Soon we started to file into the theatre, and it was very disorganized. There was a lady the groups and get them to their seats, students were everywhere and really knew where to go.My class, observing our rule, walked in in two single-file lines. We stood near the door behind everyone else, and we .All of a sudden, the lady who was noticed us and she walked our direction. She asked the students the teacher was for our group, and I raised my .She asked,“Very, very nice to meet you.Come this way.”We were led into the theatre, ,and we were given front-row seats.
Sometimes for others may not seem like it is going to have an effect, especially when you no one around who is taking manners into .However, that is usually the time when such actions will be most appreciated and recognized.
