 Thomas Edison’ s lab was badly’ destroyed by fire in December, 1914.       Much of Edison’ s life’ s work went up in flames (火焰) on that December night. After seeing the fire, Edison’ s 24-year-old son, Charles, looked for his father among the smoke.    Edison’ s face turned red and his white hair blew in the wind.
