Reading English newspapers are my favorite activity. When I entered into high school, I began to enjoy doing such work. I also get much information, included news about China and the world outside. It opened my eyes widely. That I love most is the section about TV programs in the coming week. I like playing football on the playground where is in the north of our school. I like them because I can play football with friends happy and we can also have matches. Although we are busy with our study, we always spared as much time as possibly to practise. As matter of fact, I begin playing football when I was only eight years old, and I have been good at it. I joined in the school team as soon as I entered senior high school. How fun it is to play football, especially on the beautiful autumn days with a number of fallen leaf on the ground.

My free time is filled with interested activities. I read all kinds of books in the reading-room whenever I am free. I learn much in the library than in class in this way. Meanwhile, I took part in many sports activities, of that my favorite is volleyball. I often play volleyball after the school. Sports and games keep me healthy and energetic enough to get across a variety of difficulties. Sometime I go in for social practice with my classmates outside school. As we all know it, many children have to spend their weekends and holidays attending various training courses though they are unwilling to. That’s why their parents don’t want him to fall behind at the starting line.Instead, they hope their children are equipping with as many skills as possible.Therefore they won’t lose faces when comparing their children with others’. Beside, they are sure these extra classes will help their children to stand by and become more competitive in the future.Actually, it was unwise to force children to do what they don’t like. An old man whose eyesight was failing comes to stay in a hotel, a bottle of whisky in his hand. On the wall was a fly he took for a nail. The moment he tried to hang the bottle on it, they fell and broke. When the landlady discovered what had been happened, she decided to do him favor. The next morning when he was out, the hotel worker hammered a nail exact where the “fly” had been. Before the old man came back, the smell of the whisky reminded him the accident. Looking at the spot what he thought the “fly” was again, he was so angry that he slapped it with all his strengths. On hearing the loud cry, the landlady rushed in. To her surprise, the poor old man was sitting on the floor with his teeth clenched(咬紧) and the palm of his hand bleed.

I had a interesting dream last night. I dreamed that I took part in a race. At first, I could not to run very fast and fell behind. So I didn’t lose heart and kept running. All the students on the playground cheer me on. “Coming on!” I was so encouraged that I ran faster and fast till I caught up all the other runners. I felt as if I were flying like a superman. In the end, I got to the finishing line first. I won the race. I felt very proudly of myself. Many of my classmate threw me up into the air. Just at that time I woke up and found me still in bed!
