Under China’s current educational system, there are those who do nothing but study. They of course are thought to be model students.
But I feel that there is another type of student who, perhaps not as diligent (勤奋的) as the first type, uses his time more efficiently and achieves a lot academically.
Last year, a classmate of mine was accepted by a top university. It surprised all of us. It was because, unlike most of us, he didn’t spend too much of his time studying.
When I asked him the secret of his success, he said that the key was properly and scientifically arranging his time.
“ I spent a lot of time keeping fit and as a result, I was able to better concentrate (集中) on my class work.”
The moral of the story is: it isn’t necessary to sit at your desk all day long to get high academic (学术) grades.

If you have ever experienced jet lag(飞行时差反应)，you know how much of a drag it can be. Jet lag happens as a result of air travel, when traveling between two or more time zones. Your body is used to operating in a certain time zone, and when its timing is affected, you’re likely to have problems.
Edward Norton’s character in the movies Fight Club faces the struggle of jet-lag-induced sleeplessness due to his constant traveling. Sleeplessness is just one of the effects of jet lag, and it can lead to other problems, such as tiredness, memory loss and confusion. That’s not something you should have to fight on a business trip and it certainly won’t make your vacation very enjoyable, either.

“There’s going to be one less boy in the room!” The words rang in my ears as the criminal(罪犯) pointed his gun against my head. The floodgates opened and tears ran down my face. No one in the courtroom(法庭) moved. Everyone was held silent with fear. A few seconds passed and the criminal put down his gun, turning his back on me.
“Cut!” the director shouted with joy. One take! We had done the scene in just one take. Then all the people who acted in the film went off for lunch.

Then I realized that they didn’t see that side of him. Television and films are about creating an alternate(交替的) life that appears real even if for a while. We had been successful in doing that. Even my friends, who knew the real me, were drawn in the make-believe world of our story.
Acting has helped me to feel comfortable in my own skin and in communicating with others. I feel relaxed during interviews and when leadership opportunities come. Change is not threatening(威胁) to me, and I am grateful for the chance to learn and to grow in knowledge and experience in my life.
