According to a new survey, student safety has become a big problem. Nearly 50% of students say they are worried about robbery(抢劫) on the way to and from school. Now in many big cities in China, some schools have taught an unusual lesson: self-protection(自我保护). Students like this lesson because there are no exams or boring classes. And they can learn how to save lives and know how to stop danger before it really happens.
Chen Haoyu, a teacher at Beijing No.25 Middle School and a self-protection expert(专家), gives young students advice on how to deal with danger.
If you are robbed
Keep calm. If you can not cry for help or run away, give the robber your money. Try to
remember what the robber looks like and tell the police later.
If you are in a traffic accident
If a car hurts you, you should remember the car number; if it is a bicycle, try to call your
parents before you let the rider go. This is because you don’t know how badly you are hurt.
If it is raining hard and there is lightning(闪电)
Don’t stay in high places and keep away from trees.
When there is a fire
Get away as fast as you can. Put wet things on your body and try to find an exit (出口).
Do not take the lift!
If someone is drowning (溺水)
If you can’t swim, don’t get into the water. Cry out for help. Remember that danger is never as far away as you think. Take care of yourself at all times! Why do students like the self-protection lesson?

In 1826, a Frenchman named Niepce needed pictures for his business .But he was not a goodartist .So he invented a very simple camera (照相机).He put it in a window of his house and took apicture of his garden .That was the first photo.
The next important date in the history of photography (摄影术) was in 1837. That year, Daguere, another Frenchman ,took a picture of his reading room .He used a new kind of camera in a differentway. Mr Baker worked in a big factory. He was busy all the time and had little time to rest. One summer, he decided to go to the sea to spend his holidays.

Spring Festival is the most important festival in China.It lies on the first day of the first lunar month（农历）in the traditional Chinese lunar calendar .On the evening before the Spring Festival ,families get together and have a big meal .In many places people like to set off firecrackers .Dumplings are the most traditional food .Children like the festival very much ,because they can have delicious food and wear new clothes .They can also get some money from their parents. This money is given to children for good luck . People put New Year scrolls on the wall for good fortune .
Chinese people held the first New Year Festival more than 3,000 years ago. Farmers gave thanks for the harvest and prayed. They asked the gods for good crops in the coming year.
But there is a story behind all the celebration.According to legend, there was a man-eating wild monster（怪兽） "Nian" with an extremely large mouth, capable of swallowing several people in a single bite. The monster seemed too strong to be defeated. So all the villagers would take their old and young deep into the mountains to hide from Nian.One day, a wise old man passed through the village and told the villagers that "nian" was afraid of loud noises and the color red, The villagers came together and agreed that when it was time for Nian's annual visit towards the end of winter they would start a fire in front of every door and not go to sleep but rather make noise.Nian had not come down the mountain to cause any trouble thereafter. This eventually become a tradition of China and leads to the celebration for another year of safe life. Chinese people celebrate in remembrance of this legend and still continues till today! This custom has spread, became the most solemn of traditional Chinese folk festivals "have the spring festival".
