Hello! Welcome to our Music Program. And now if you listen to this programme, you’ll know that it’s time for our competition every week. Last week’s prize of two theatre tickets was won by Bill Martins. Congratulations, Bill. I hope you’ve your tickets by now. This week we are offering a classical (经典的) CD. I hope you will be the first listener to tell the name of the music and the person who it. but I do, you need to get a pencil and a piece of paper, as I’m going to give you some which should make your job a little easier. Are you ready? Right. Now listen carefully, as you might be this week’s winner.
Although the person who wrote the music was born in Italy, he spent most of his in Spain. Have you got that? The second point: There is also a famous play which has the same title as this music and which is usually performed in the open air in the summer. Any yet? I should warn you that it’s not that easy. Now for the next point: When this piece of music was first performed, many people in the audience got up and walked out. They thought the music was terrible and said it was a waste of their money. It’s really, when you think how it is today.
And now for the last point. Part of his music was used for an advertisement which you can see on television, in a lot of magazines and even on your cinema screen from next month. I’m when you hear the music, you’ll know what the advertisement is for. I’m not going to tell you what product (产品) it is, because that would almost give you the answer!
So, that’s four things to remember. If you can give us the answer, please ring 400-8937224. And the music is coming up now.

I stood there listening to my father shout at top of his voice. The on his face said that one of us had done something wrong.
“ one of you did this?”
We all stared down at the step. There was child’s handwriting in chalk (粉笔) there. I was very . I hoped no one could see it. Would he guess it was me? I was so scared. When he asked me, I : “Not me, Dad.”
The others denied (否认) it as well. Of course, we all knew that one of us have done it. But as the and smallest of the three, I just couldn’t find the courage (勇气) to tell the

To find out who had written on the , Father gave us each a piece of paper and a pencil. “I want each of you to exactly what you see on the step.”
I tried my best to write the words . I didn’t want Dad to be able to tell it was me.
He gathered up our pieces of paper and looked at them. “Since of you will admit to have done it, then I will punish you all.” I stood there and said . The last thing I wanted was for Dad to punish me!
“I ____ it.” My sister stepped forward and said she had done something she hadn’t. She was grounded (受处罚) for a month.
We didn’t talk that day for many years. Not until we were all older and I knew it was safe to finally tell my dad it was really me. I always felt sorry__it. That was the last time I let anyone take the blame (责任) for me.

What’s your idea about success? Some people say that beginners have all the luck, while others believe that success only with practice. In fact, I fell both of these statements are not true all the time. Each is true in some ways not in others.
For example, I went to a drawing competition many years ago and surprisingly. As a prize, I got a film ticket to see “Titanic”. I was really because it was the first time I had taken part in any competition, Thinking that I might be lucky again, I joining in other art competitions, ‘But the result was that I won again. I accepted the fact that the other people had a artistic ability than I did. Art was not something I was especially interested in and I had never practiced the different art skills. So, the I produced were not of a very high standard
These experiences taught me a lot. Though I might have been lucky , I also need to put in hard work. As we know, akes perfect. So I believe success builds on less luck and chance.

Around two weeks ago, I was invited to be a judge(裁判) at a college. All of the students had been given a piece of paper with a topic written on it. The first one to speak looked a little . “My dear friends and judges,” he said loudly, “this is an unfair ! I have been given the paper,” he continued, “to speak on the topic with just a few minutes’ preparation, those who come after me have more time to their speeches!” He then left the stage and went out of the hall.
I met him later by chance. “Who said life is ?” I asked him with a smile, and I asked him to walk with me to my car. “Have you seen the figures(数字) they show when a new car is into the market, saying how good it is?”
“Yes,” he nodded.
“But they put a after all these figures. They say all the figures are in ideal road conditions!”
“Yes,” he said again.
“Can you show me some ideal road conditions?” I asked him, and he smiled. “The car that sells well is the one will provide power and speed on the roads. That car is the winner.”
We had got to the car. “Don’t look for ideal competition conditions,” I said. “ the unfair and come out a winner!”
I looked back as I drove away and saw him smile and wave, and I knew he would do as I said.
