BEIJING---Chinese Premier Wen Jiabao has visited the“left-behind” children whose parents are working in cities before Children’s Day.
During a visit to northwest China’s Shanxi Province, Wen visited the home of Yang Saike, a primary school boy in a village of Xingping City, Yang, whose parents were working in Fujian, thousands of kilometers away, was cared for by his grandparents. His parents fail to go home even once a year.

Liu’s parents were also working in the city.
“Have you been to school yet?” Wen asked two other girls.
“ We are going to the pre-school class,” said one.
“ Mon and dad at home?” Wen asked. The children shook their heads.
“ Children cannot see their parents very often, which is a new problem in the countryside. We should give them more care and love,” said the premier.

WHAT would you do if you were invisible(隐形的)?To many people, this is a fun question.
Do you think this can be true? With recent talks of making invisibility a reality, this fun question could actually become a real problem for people and their governments to consider.
It has recently been reported that researchers in the United States and England are confident that they understand, in theory(理论), how to create an invisibility cloak(斗篷), similar to the one that Harry Potter received from his father. They have already begun to work on it, and are asking for help in developing the material that would be used to create this invisibility cloak.
“Is it science fiction? Well, it’s a theory and that already is not science fiction,” said Professor Sir John Pendry. “It’s possible in theory to do all these Harry Potter things, but we should face the challenge, that is our engineering ability.
“Now, no invisibility cloak has been made yet, but the first testing of invisibility technology could be soon,” said Pendry. “We will have a cloak after not too long.”
Though the idea sounds great, it could be a bad thing if it is used in wars. What is the biggest problem if we make invisibility a reality?

Season two of Where Are We Going, Dad? A reality show on Hunan TV is even more fun and colorful than the first. We’ve been able to watch different kinds of father-son/daughter relationships unfold. This time around we see the families at their most happy and awful moments.

Dad: Francis Ng, 53 Son: Feynman Ng, 5 ![]() |
These two have the traditional father-son relationship, where the father is serious and the son is obeyed by only a glance. “A tough man with a tender heart” is the best way to describe this actor from Hong Kong, especially when we see him giving Feynman encouragement and support. Dear Santa,
Thank you for all of the great gifts you give me this Christmas.
My parents can’t seem to decide whether you gave the presents directly, or if you just helped them and my grandma pick out the right presents. So, if you are advising her, please tell her next year that I do not own a Wii.
I don’t remember asking you for so many pairs of pants, but thank you for giving me the chance to try them on in the front of my whole family. I enjoyed them so much that I continued to wear them, with the tags(商标)still on.
My mom and the holiday movies are always quick to remind me that Christmas isn’t about the presents. It’s about togetherness. But without the presents, there’s nothing to do to fill up this long, long day. So I think Christmas is about the presents, and I’m sure you agree.
If you do, I have some suggestions about ways that you could make the present part of the day last longer: using packing tape to wrap presents instead of Scotch tape(透明胶带). It took, like, ten minutes to open just one present.
My final suggestion is pretty simple: more presents! If it took the whole day to open all of the presents, then I wouldn’t have that terrible time, because my mom says it’s wrong to go play video games in my room, but there’s nothing else to do outside of my room.
Anyway, thank you again and I look forward to seeing you next Thanksgiving. It’s an iTunes gift card for you and hope you like it.

Ten years ago, when I was in high school,Mrs. White was my language teacher. One day at lunch time, I was about to eat my cold fish sandwich and she suddenly asked me if she could buy my lunch from me. She explained that I could use the money to buy a hot lunch from the cafeteria(食堂). I was very pleased. I had never thought of going to the cafeteria to buy my lunch like other students. The food at the cafeteria was too expensive for my family.
Kids always complained about the cafeteria food but I really wanted to buy it. When we finished lunch that day, she told me that she was a Catholic and Catholics don’t eat red meat on Fridays --- they eat fish on Fridays. From then on, every Friday Mrs.White bought my fish sandwich and with the money I could buy a hot lunch from the cafeteria.
One year later, I learned from a classmate that Mrs.White was not a Catholic and her family was not rich. She bought my cold sandwich because she saw a little girl that was excited to have a hot lunch. She wanted to help me! I couldn’t help crying. I will never forget her kind heart.
