Recently, my classmates have had a heated discussion about that
we should have optional courses in high schools. Some students were
in favor of optional courses. They say interest is best teacher
and our spare time will be colorful and meaningful. Students
can not only enlarge their knowledges but also improve their abilities.
However, others are against the idea, said that optional courses
will take up too much time as well as energy. In addition to, some optional
courses have something to do with the College Entrance Examination. They
are afraid they’ll fall behind their classmates if they will take the
optional courses. I’d like to take one or two of the optional courses, which, I think, will certain benefit me a lot.

greeted them with English and then we began to chat. I got to know they were college
student traveling in China. Most of us were fond of Chinese medicine. They were busy
taking pictures and were surprising at the changes that had taken place in the past few years. After that, we went boat and had a good time. We were exchanged our e-mail
addresses such that we could write to each other in the future. They thanked me again
and again. I was gladly to have a chance to practice my oral English.

Sports and games are very useful for character training. In their lessons at the school, boys and girls may learn about such virtues like unselfishness, courage, discipline and love of one’s country. So what is learned in books cannot have the same deep effect on child’s character as what is learned by experience. As most of the pupils’ time is spent in classes study lessons, the ordinary day school can’t give many practical training for their lives in the future. So it is how the pupils do in the spare time that really prepare them to take their places in society as citizens when they grow up. Did you enjoy yourself yesterday? I suppose you do. But I’d like to tell you what a bad day I had yesterday. Everything just went wrongly. On the morning, my alarm clock didn’t ring, since I woke up an hour late. I was in such a hurry that I burnt my hand when I was cooking the breakfast. Then I ran out of the house to catch the 8:30 buses. This is the bus I usually take. But, you may laugh, I missed it of course. I am very unhappy, and scared as well because teacher hates the students coming late to school. So I ran three miles to school only to found that nobody was there. The school was quiet but peaceful. Our classroom was locked. I realized that moment: It was Sunday.
