Behind my apartment, there is used to be a dirty and messy corner. Bits of plastic bags hanged on the trees. Broken bottles were left laying here and there. There was a damaging car in the centre. The whole corner gave off a unpleasant smell. One year ago, we decided to turn it in a beautiful park. Since then, great changes have been taken place in that corner. Harvey had eight umbrellas but they were all broken. He decided have them repaired. He took theumbrellas to the shop and left them here. The shopkeeper said, "They'll be ready tomorrow." Although we may not realize it, but when we talk with others we make ourselves understand not just by words. We send messages to the people around us also by our expressions and body movement. A smile and a handshake shows welcome. Wave one's hand is to say "Goodbye". Nodding head means agreement when shaking it means disagreement. These gestures are received both by Chinese and English speakers as having the same meaning. But not all body language means the same thing in different country. Take nodding the head for example. In some Asia countries it means not "Yes" but "No".
