Martin had just finished high school. He would go to college at the far end of the city. He didn’t want to live there, and he didn’t want to take the bus either. So his father agreed to buy him a car.
His father spent all his summer teaching him how to drive, from the ABC to the XYZ. Thinking of the great feeling of driving a new car, Martin learned very quickly, and received his driver’s license just before his eighteenth birthday.
The second day, all the family, and their dog, went to a car shop. Martin spent almost all the morning going from one car to another. Finally he saw a red Blue Bird. He had a test drive on the open ground, and called out, “This is what I want, Dad!” When everything was done, they were ready to leave.
Martin climbed into the front seat. He said excitedly, “It’s my first day driving alone. Dad, Mom, and Poo! Enjoy it!”
His dad immediately took the back seat, right behind the new driver. Martin wondered why his father chose that seat, for his father always enjoyed looking in front.
So he said, smiling, “I’m sure you’re back there to have a change after all those weeks of sitting in the front seat teaching me how to drive.”
“No,” Dad replied, “Do you remember what you did to me all those years when I took you to and from school? I am sitting here to hit and kick the back of your seat all the way!”

In the 1950s, a female swimming athlete set a goal for herself. She decided to swim across the English Channel before she retired. If she could make it, she would be the first person in the world who did it.

On that day, she jumped into the sea without any hesitation and swam towards the opposite bank.

In the journey, she faced heavy fog, heavy rain, and heavy waves.Though she was very tired, she carried on swimming.

But in the end, she gave up. And what she didn't know at the moment she gave up was that the opposite bank was only one mile away.

Later people asked her about the reason, and she said, "the reason why I gave up is that I could not see the destination which I was so close to."

Can you get pocket money from your parents? What do your parents think about giving pocket money ?Most parents agree that children should be given pocket money.

Many think it teaches children to earn and save money. It teaches children how to spend money in a correct way. It can also make them independent and they will learn how life works at a young age, which is a very important life lesson. It will also teach them if they want something they have to work for it.

They think when a child is given pocket money, he/she may know how it is useful and they learn to know how to use money. When it is practised to them, they begin to save money. Saving money is a very good habit which should be taught to the children when they are at a very young age. So from childhood parents should give pocket money to their children and explain to them how to use money in a correct way and also tell them to save the money. This helps them when they grow up. Pocket money helps them to do something special to the society.

Of course, there are some opposite opinions. A few adults argue that because of the demanding nature of children, they might even misuse the given money for useless purposes For example, some children are in a habit of buying drugs or alcohol from their pocket money.

Parents these days are open to provide pocket money to their school﹣ going children. However, when parents give money to their kids ,they should also teach them how to make the correct use of money.
