Personally , I found most lesson rather uninteresting. We had to
sit at our desks in silence and paid attention to what the teachers
were saying. They were used to write on the blackboard and ask
us difficult questions. We also had to do piles of homework , and
hand it on time. We had to wear school uniforms and obey lots of
rules. I left school as soon as I can and started work. I read books
at the public library , and late I decided to attend college. Now
I really enjoy study because I’m growing old and know what I
want it. When I was at school , I was just the wrong age!

In early 1800’s a new kind of power changed transportation and trade along the Mississippi River. This power was a steam. People already knew that how to use steam engines to run machines. Some people wanted to move boats by the same way. The first steamboats to travel on the Mississippi was the “New Orleans”, which made its first trip in 1811. It was a great successful, and by 1819 there were 191 steamboats travel on the long river. In the past, the farmers products went to other parts of the country used steamboats. The manufacturers whose trade depend on cheap and easy transportation used steamboats so well.

My interest has been in books instead in food since Iwent to high school. In the past I was real
interestedin all kinds of food. In summer day I liked to buy ice creamand cold drinks, while in winter I like to buy sweetsand some another food. Whenever I went for a walk with myparents I would ask them buy me something.However, after I went to high school, I found I was puttingon weight. So, I gave up habit of eating and began to spend money on all kinds of books, and myparents are always complaining that I am a money spender!
