Thanksgiving is celebrated on the fourth Thursday of November every year . It’s a time to be with your family, to eat and play.
Thanksgiving was first celebrated in 1620. That year English people went to the US for the first time.
They found farming in the US hard . But with the help of the native Indians, they still got a lot of food.
So they invited the Indians to eat with them. Ta the meal they thanked God for their food luck. Thanksgiving has been celebrated ever since in the US.
On Thanksgiving, families eat a big golden turkey, corn and pumpkin pies . There’s so much food, everyone gets a big stomachache .
They also give thanks for their loved ones, and play games. It’s a great day!
