My friend Monty Roberts told me a story about a young boy. One day at school, the boy was asked to write a paper 26 what he wanted to be and do when he grew up.
That night he wrote a seven – paper 27 his dream of owning a farm. He put a great deal of his heart into the paper and the next day he handed it in to his 28 . Two days later he received his paper back. On the 29 page was a large red F with a 30 that read, “See me after class.” The boy went to see the teacher after class and asked, “ 31 did I receive an F?” The teacher said, “This is an unrealistic dream for a young boy like you. Owning a farm requires a lot of money. There’s no 32 a young man could ever do it.” Then the teacher added, “ 33 you will rewrite this paper, I will reconsider you
r 34 .”
The boy went home and 35 about it long and hard. Finally, after a week, he turned in the 36 paper, making no changes.
Monty then said, “I tell you this story because you are sitting on my farm. I 37 have that school paper over fireplace.” He added, “The best part of the story is that two summers ago the same schoolteacher brought 30 kids to camp out on my farm. When the teacher was 38 , he said, ‘Look Monty, I can tell you this now. When I was your teacher, I was something of a dream 39 . During those years I stole a lot of kids’ dreams. Fortunately you had enough courage not to 40 yours.”
Don’t let anyone steal your dreams. Follow your heart, no matter what…

Where did all the tigers go? That’s what Indian Prime Minister Manmohan Singh wants to know. India’s Sariska Project Tiger Reserve, once home to 26 tigers, is now home to none. Singh has ordered a police investigation into the 39 ,and created a new taskforce to save the 40 animals.
Tigers are an endangered species(物种). Half of the world’s tiger 41 live in India. For years, tigers have been disappearing from India’s national parks, but Sariska may be the last straw. And the government has to react.
On Thursday, Singh held the first meeting of 42 officials, wildlife experts, and related leaders, aiming to count the nation’s remaining tigers, and to come up with a plan to keep them safe.
It is not hard to guess why the tigers are disappearing. Poachers (偷猎者) can 43 the big cats for $50,000 each. Tiger skin and bones are popular in Chinese 44 . A single tiger tooth can fetch $120. Recently, a group of poachers admitted killing ten tigers in Sariska and were 45 .
“Indian tiger poaching is probably the biggest conservation problem in modern times.” said Belinda Wright, the head of the Wildlife Protection Society of India.
However, poaching isn’t the only 46 . Many poachers use advanced technologies, like night glasses and long–range binoculars. Forest security officers are paid so 47 that few of them bother to track down the poachers. Even if a security guard were to find a poacher, many carry only a stick to make him obey the law.
Tiger fans hope that Singh’s plans mean end for the poachers and 48 for the endangered species.

I used to hate being called upon in class mainly because I didn’t like attention drawn to myself. And 51 otherwise assigned(指定)a seat by the teacher, I always 52 to sit at the back of the classroom.
All this 53 after I joined a sports team. It began when a teacher suggested I try out for the basketball team. At first I thought it was a crazy 54 because I didn’t have a good sense of balance, nor did I have the 55 to keep pace with the others on the team and they would tease me. But for the teacher who kept insisting on my “ 56 for it”, I wouldn’t have decided to give a try.
Getting up the courage to go to the tryouts was only the 57 of it! When I first
started 58 the practice sessions, I didn’t even know the rules of the game, much 59 what I was doing. Sometimes I’d get 60 and take a shot at the wrong direction—which made me feel really stupid. 61 , I wasn’t the only one “new” at the game, so I decided to 62 on learning the game, do my best at each practice session, and not be too hard on myself for the things I
didn’t 63 “just yet”.
I practiced and practiced. Soon I knew the 64 and the “moves”. Being part of a team was fun and motivating. Very soon the competitive 65 in me was winning over my lack of confidence. With time, I learned how to play and made friends in the 66 — friends who respected my efforts to work hard and be a team player. I never had so much fun!
With my 67 self-confidence comes more praise from teachers and classmates. I have gone from 68 in the back of the classroom and not wanting to call attention to myself, 69 raising my hand— even when I sometimes wasn’t and not 100 percent 70 I had the right answer. Now I have more self-confidence in myself.

While Andrew was getting ready for work one Friday morning, he announced to his wife that he had finally decided to ask his boss for a salary raise. All day Andrew felt nervous. 16 Mr. Larchmont refused to 17 his request? Andrew had 18 so hard in the last 18 months. 19 , he deserved a wage increase.
The thought of walking into Larchmont’s office left Andrew weak 20 . Late in the afternoon he finally gathered the 21 to approach his superior. To his 22 and surprise, the ever-frugal (一贯节省的) Harvey Larchmont agreed to give Andrew a 23 !
Andrew arrived home that evening, 24 their dining table set with their best china, and candles lit. His wife, Tina, had prepared a delicate meal 25 his favorite dishes. Immediately he 26 someone from the office had tipped her off!
Next to his plate Andrew found a beautiful lettered 27 . It was from his wife, which read: “ 28 , my love! I knew you’d get the raise! I prepared this dinner to show just how much I love you. I’m so 29 of your accomplishments!” He read it and stopped to 30 how sensitive and caring Tina was.
After dinner, Andrew was on his way to the kitchen 31 he observed a second card had slipped out of Tina’s pocket. He picked it up. It read: “Don’t worry about not getting the raise! You do deserve one! I prepared this dinner to show you just how much I love you 32 you didn’t get the increase.”
Tears 33 in Andrew’s eyes. Total acceptance! Tina’s support for him was not 34 upon his success at work.
The fear of rejection is often softened and we can undergo almost any setback or rejection when we know someone loves us 35 our success or failure.
