Recently I have read an article in a magazine．It was of a mother who was worried about her son just because of he always kept his hair long．The mother thought that was not right，but the son felt there was nothing unusually about it．Different generations have different opinion on the same thing．That is what is meaning by “the generation gap”．We can see them in our daily lives．Most of our parents like listening to old songs when young people prefer pop songs．Every time my father finds me listen to rock music，he always shouted, “Shut it off. It’s awful!” How can we deal the generation gap?

Why did we go to university? Different people have different
point of view. Some students may have many colorful dreams
and think of universities as the most interested places.
Some people think, the universities often disappoint them.
After graduation, many of them find that the jobs aren’t ones
they like and salaries are not high as expected. And in
my opinion, one of the more important reasons why
universities have a strong attraction is a university provides

First, I’d like to thank you for your reminding, although I don’t agree with your view
which students should spend more time on their lessons instead of read novels．Indeed,
reading novels takes up some of the time that should spent on lessons, but it’ll make us know
what hard life is．Besides, by reading novels we can gain what we can’t learn from our
textbook．Of course, reading novels has it’s shortcomings．Novels that have wrong ideas will
make us to do something wrong．Maybe, in your eyes, the disadvantages of reading novels
outweighs the advantages．And in my opinion, reading novels is just as another pair of eyes,
which broadens my horizon．

When I was studying in Kansas City last year，a hurricane swept through the city．We were sitting round the kitchen table while we heard the alarm．We ran down into the basement and laid on the floor．Then I heard a noise，like approaching train，which got louder and louder．The house began to shake! And then ，all of a sudden，it stopped．We went to upstairs and tried the door to the kitchen，so it wouldn't open．The house directly across the street had completely been disappeared! We were relieved to see people coming from the basement unharming．Amazing，the upstairs of the house was unaffected．But the hurricane had broken all the windows in the kitchen，and the wind had blown the kitchen table—the one we were sitting minutes before—against the door to the basement．
