It is true that people with better education are usually able to get better paying jobs. In other words, they have more chances to choose a good job while people with little or no education don’t. It seems that the purpose of education is to make people get jobs. But this isn’t accepted by all people.
Some people may think that a person should spend the best years of his life to get education only for a way of living. This was probably one of the earliest reasons of education. In fact, if education is just a way of making a living, people don’t need to spend so much time in school. People can get education for a living in a short time. Subjects like history and geography need not be taught to everyone. Even language and maths need not be taught in detail, either. Here it is clear that education is much more than teaching a man to get a way of living.
Education is well-rounded and it is mainly for improving a man. It is not only to teach him to speak, read and write, but also to develop his creative thinking and other abilities. After that, it is to make him a wise man and thankfully enjoy the achievements of human. Educationis to make a man lead a better life. Educated people are expected to be able to listen to good music, read good books, watch plays and take an interest in the world.
I would agree that making a good living is an important reason for education, but certainly not the most important or the main reason.

C.make people get a way of living
D.teach people to read good books

The underlined word “well-rounded” in the passage means “            “in Chinese.

A.圆满的 B.崭新的
C.公平的 D.全面的

It is expected that educated people will be able to            .

A.accept education as a way of living
B.take an interest in the whole world
C.develop their abilities to make plays
D.learn subjects like language and math

The passage mainly tells us that         .

A.education should make a man improve
B.people can get education in a short time
C.people should be able to get good paying jobs
D.all subjects are so important for a way of living

Earlier this year, China achieved a new milestone(里程碑) in space exploration(探索). On Jan 3, Chang'e 4 became the first space probe(探测器) in history to land on the far side of the moon, People's Daily reported.

From Earth, we can only see one side of the moon. The other side has been a mystery. Scientists have long wondered what lies on this side of the moon.

Chang'e 4 has sent back photos of the far side of the moon. It is also used to carry out experiments, such as growing seeds in a low﹣gravity(低重力) environment. The data(数据) collected from these experiments could be used to help us build a base on the moon in the future.

The success of the Chang'e 4 mission(任务) is a main achievement for China's space program. Itmarks a new stage in China's deep space exploration, said Wu Yanhua, head of China National Space Administration.

China launched(启动) its lunar(月球的) exploration program in 2004, naming it Chang'e. Chinese scientists set three goals ﹣"orbiting(环绕运行), landing and sample(样本) returning"﹣ referring to launching probes that could circle around the moon, touch down on its surface and bring lunar materials back to Earth.

Chang'e 4 has realized the goal of landing. The third will be achieved during the Chang'e 5 mission, which is set to take place before the end of this year, China Daily reported.

Following the success of the Chang'e missions, Chinese scientists are looking even farther into our solar system(太阳系). China's first Mars(火星) mission is expected to be carried out by 2020, Wu said.

Few words are spoken more often every day on the streets of Britain than "I'm sorry". This phrase has become such a common response(反应) that it has taken ona lot of meanings.

Saying "Sorry" means to apologize(道歉). This is simple and easy to understand. We learn it both as a native speaker and as a student of foreign languages.

But in Britain, it takes on another meaning. It is a cultural expression. Imagine this: a man walks down the street, looking down at his phone. A woman is walking in the opposite direction, towards the man. She sees him, but she can't get out of the way in time. The man bumps (碰撞) into the woman. Who should say sorry? Naturally, the man should say sorry, because it was he who wasn't looking where he was going. Yet in Britain, it is common for both to apologize.

It is known that British people, like most people, do not enjoy conflict(冲突).So to quickly calm the situation, British people will apologize to each other.

Other times it may sound funny to hear "sorry". Some of my friends say it at restaurants, as they ask the waiter: "Sorry, but can I order another drink?" It is not to apologize, but just to express that we need the waiter. In Britain, sorry doesn't always mean exactly what you think.

Bees (蜜蜂) live in a house that is called a hive. They are of three kinds: workers, queens, and drones.

They are very wise and busy little creatures (生物体), They all join together to build cells of wax(蜡巢) for their honey. The cells which they build are not round but have six sides. They are all of one shape and size.

Each bee takes its proper place, and does its own work. Some go out and gather (采集)honey from the flowers; others stay at home and work inside the hive.

When spring comes, and the flowers begin to come out, the bees leave the hives very early in the morning. They fly away, and gather the sweet juice of the flowers. They do not visit only the flowers near at hand. They go very often more than a mile from their own hives, but they never lose their way. When a shower of rain comes on, they hide themselves in some little holes in a wall, or perhaps among the leaves of a tree, or inside a large flower.

Only one queen can live in each hive.If she is lost or dead, the other bees will stop their work.

The drones do not work. Before winter comes, all the drones are driven from the hive or killed, so that they may not eat the honey which they did not gather.
