When I was a young teenager, about 14, I was already ready to work. My father was a dairy man and he had been working his entire life. For him, getting up at 5 a.m. and working a couple of hours before I went to school, and then more after school until there was not enough to see, were normal.
My father considered putting good work ethics in me to be very . He began to show me these, not through , but through his actions. He would not a job until it was done. He put his all into everything he did. However, he showed me this not just in working, but in everything. Like when I was in soccer, I wanted to a game once, and he explained to me that I had made a and that even if I just skipped one game, then I did not to play the rest of the games.
So the day I started my first job at the age of 14, I was to show my father that I could do it well, and that I was not going to . My entire was to make my father proud of me. I knew that I did, he would not say it in words, but he would show it. My first job was doing for a company. As most of you know, construction is not an easy job, especially being so . When someone as young as I started working, they would either or get stronger. I got stronger. I worked the I had been taught and I gave that day everything I had. In the end, my boss was . He even called to tell my parents what a good worker I was, and my parents’ eyes . From that day on I have worked every job to my full , because that day defined(界定) my life. It defined how I was going to work, and I will always stick to it in the rest of my life.

There is one showing love.and there's another not responding in time.During lifetime, however, it turns out to be a regret and we always think of making it up when it's gone.
A father sat at his desk staring over his monthly bills21 his young son rushed in and 22 ."Dad.because this is your birthday and you're 55 years old, I'm going to give you 5523 .one for each year!" When the boy started24 his agreement, the father exclaimed, "Oh.Andrew, don't do it now; I'm too25 !" The youngster immediately26 silent as tears welled up in his big blue eyes.27 the father said, "You can finish later."
The boy said nothing but quietly28 ,disappointment written29 his face. That evening the father said, "Come and finish the30 kisses now.Andrew!" But the boy didn't respond.
Unfortunately, a few days later after this incident, the boy had an 31 and was drowned.His32 father wrote."If only I33 tell him how much I regret my thoughtless34 ,and could be assured that he knows how much my heart is35 ."

The trip to that city was eye-opening for everyone, and near its end, all the young people in our group began to reflect on what it had meant. We 41 the first night we had arrived. We had all gone into the markets of the city 42 the young people could experience its energy. But what we actually saw simply 43 us all --- the rundown houses, the children in rags, the people begging for money… Walking home, 44 under a low bridge, we came across 45 families of homeless people seeking a bit of dry ground to sleep on 46 the night. We had to step over bodies as we found our way through the darkness.
The poverty was 47 than anything my young companions had ever imagined. Back in the hotel, an air of sadness settled over the group. Many 48 and cried. Spending time in this 49 moves a person to care about humanity.
That evening, our group spent hours talking about what we had 50 . Gently, I encouraged everyone to talk about the difficult 51 that day’s discoveries had inspired. Sitting together 52 a circle as everyone had a chance to speak, we all began to realize that 53 of us was alone in our struggle to cope with our reactions.
Based on my 54 in poverty-stricken areas, I suggested that 55 the emotions we had were painful, they could also be important in helping us to move forward. We all 56 that we had seen things that should never be allowed to happen. 57 , what could we do about it? Together, we began to brainstorm ways we could help to ease the 58 we had seen. As I encouraged group members to focus on 59 they could do, a sense of determination 60 the previous sadness. Instead of despair, these young people began to feel a call to action.

Dear Dad,
I was very upset when I received your letter. I knew you 46 not like my results, but I didn’t realize you and Mum were so 47 with me. This has made me 48 very carefully about myself, and now I 49 how silly I have been.
My poor 50 have come from my own 51 . Of course, I want to do my best. I want you and Mum to be proud 52 me, but somehow when I get to school I just can’t keep my 53 on the subject and I stop 54 the teacher. So many other things seem so much more 55 , but I know that I must not 56 the chance you and Mum have given me. If I don’t work very hard 57 the next few months, I am going to get 58 results. So I am going to study hard this summer. And I will show Mum anything 59 I can’t understand so that she can give me help.
I 60 you will allow me to play some basketball. I think I need some exercise, 61 _ I will control the time I 62 on it properly.
If you want me to stop meeting Cindy, I will — but there is 63 serious. We are just good friends, and she often helps me 64 my schoolwork.
Dad, I am really sorry I have made you angry. I’m going to try my best to 65 my study. I promise that I will make you proud of me soon.
Yours,
Jimmy
