Dear Mark,
It is pity you can’t go over the lessons with us. We will take the English finally exam next Thursday, which is also the last day of the exam week. This is different about the exam is that it consisted of two parts, answer three of the five questions and writing articles. We are supposing to go over our mid-term exam papers, textbooks and notes to prepare for it. The grade is made up of three part. The final exam will make up 55% of our final grade, the homework 20% and the mid- term 25%. Please feel free contact me unless you are still not clear about it. My young cousin Tom seems to have endless question to ask every day. One day, he asked me how life on earth began after watch a film. To be honest, the question remains a puzzle to me. Therefore, in order not to let him down, I found the answer in a book. It says, “Long ago the earth was a cloud dust. The dust settled into a solid globe before billions of years. The earth became such violent that it exploded loud. Then water, that is important for life to develop, began to appear. As the time went on, different life forms began.”

I was shopping at the local supermarket which I selected some eggs and a package of bacon. As I put the items in the front of the cashier, a drunken man stand behind me watched. While the cashier is packing up the things, the drunken man calm stated, “You must be single.” I was a bit surprised so I indeed didn’t have a boyfriend. I looked at the things I bought and saw something particularly unusual that could have indicated my personal situation. I became extremely curious and said, “What did you know that?” A drunken man replied, “Because you’re ugly.” I became speechless. How stupid was to question a drunken man!

I am an exchange student from China. Yesterday, I went to your cinema to see a film. The film was very well, but I did not enjoy it because there were some problem in the cinema.
First, the film was delayed as there were so much advertisements at the beginning. It was rather annoyed. Second, the sound of the film was too loud that I could hardly bear. The EXIT signs could not be seen clearly, which presented potential safety hazards. If something terribly should happen, it will be difficult for people to get out quickly.
As a visitor to your city, I’m disappointed with my experience in your cinema. I am writing a letter in the hope that you can consider about these problems and make some improvement.

After failing in the exam，my life got such dark that I didn't want to study any more. I always hid myself in his bedroom and cried quietly. In my family，I felt I am never important. I was not allowed to watch TV，using the computer or go out unless permitted. What's more，I had to stay in the study except when having meals. I almost lost my heart.
But one evening，my friend Zhang Wen came special to see me. She told me，“Nothing is impossible. You should believe in yourself.” Encouraging by what she said，I regained confidence，and made up my mind study. I hoped that I could catch up to others.

I believe that everyone in the world loves their mother. So am I. My
mother is a ordinary teacher. She works hard, just as other
mothers do every day. In fact, she isn’t good health. She has been
suffering arthritis for many years. In spite of this, she never stops
working or giving up hope. I still remember the day and when my
mother received a card of congratulations for Teachers’ Day from her
director. The card was read “Thank you for your hard works; Happy
Teachers’ Day to you!” At that moment, I was so moving that tears
came to my eyes. I am proud of my mother because she is my best
teacher as good as my mother.
