Two men were in the same room of a hospital. They were very ill. One man had to on his back all day.
Every day, the man sitting up by the window told the other things outside.
“Some children are feeding the ducks on the lake. They are bread to them.” “The girls are so in their summer dresses. They are singing and dancing on the grass.” The other man was happy to about all the activities and colors of the world outside.
Days and weeks passed. One morning, the man by the window died. The other man asked the nurse to his bed next to the window.
