Actress Jiang Yiyan has spent around a month a year volunteering as a teacher in mountainous villages in Guangxi for nine years in a row(连续).
In 2007, when she took part in film shooting in that area, she was shocked by the poverty (贫穷) there. Children had to walk along mountainous roads to attend classes at a neighbouring village school. So she came up with the idea of doing something for these children.
Besides giving classes, Jiang also plays games with children and sings songs for them. And she cares much for their daily life. Moreover, shedonated billion yuan to set up a fund (基金) for students there.
"Like the grass in stone clefts(裂缝), they have to try their best to find sunshine on their own rather than waiting for others to do it for them," Jiang said.
When asked how she persistedin her volunteer services for such a long time, Jiang said, " I'm not persisting but enjoying."
"It's not that I gave these kids love. I am actually learning about love." Jiang added. To enjoy and share love is seen as the most important thing in her life.
At the same time, children in the big mountains have also influenced Jiang.
"Whenever I meet with something difficult to do, I'll think of these kids. Born in the kind of environment, they have to learn to face a lot of difficult things from birth. So, why can't I?" said Jiang.

In the United States, headmaster and teachers punish(惩罚)students in different ways. The teachers often write to or call the students' parents. Sometimes students have to stay at school for an extra hour. If a student behaves(表现) very badly, the headteacher can suspend(使暂停上课) the student. The student can't come to school for one, two, or three days. Mr Lazares didn't like to suspend students. When he suspended students, they were happy. "A three﹣day holiday!" they thought. One day,a boy was in Mr Lazares' office. The boy was not behaving well in class. Mr Lazares phoned the boy's parents. "If you come to school with your son,I won't suspend him." he said. The boy's father came to school and went with his son to every class. Other students all looked at the boy and his father. The boy was embarrassed(尴尬的).After that he behaved better. He didn't want his father to come to school again. Other students behaved better, too. They thought,"I don't want my parents to come to school!"

My biggest challenge is learning how to behave at the dinner table. As you can imagine, things are very different from the way they are at home. For example, you're not supposed to put your bread on your plate. You're supposed to put it on the table! I thought that was pretty strange at first, but now I'm used to it. Another example is that you're not supposed to eat anything with your hands except bread, not even fruit. You have to cut it up and eat it with a fork. Another thing is that it's impolite to say that you're full. If you don't want any more food, you should just say,"That was delicious." Also, you're not supposed to put your elbows on the table. I have to say that I find it difficult to remember everything, but I'm gradually getting used to it. I don't find French customs so strange anymore.

Today is December 15,2030.Influenced by the launch of the first manned mission to Mars next month, you will most likely get a gift card for a space trip.
The interest in trips, 100km above the surface of the Earth, has grown steadily since such a trip began. However, the market has grown much larger this year since the official announcement of the Mars mission. More low﹣cost spacelines have entered the market and you can now find flights for such a trip for as low as ﹩ 3,495. It's very reasonable.
Space tourism(旅游业;观光业)is one of the markets that have developed fast during the last decade, with the opening of the Starbright Hotel on the moon as well as the low orbital hotels that started accepting guests. However, accommodation in space is still expensive for the averagehousehold,so the suborbital(亚轨道的)flights with thirty﹣minute weightlessness during the three﹣hour flight will for some time be the most popular trip.
However, the spacelines might in the future face fierce competition between space elevators(太空升降舱), like the one that is projected to start construction within two years.Once it is fully functional,it will start to ship cargo to space. But it will accept passengers as soon as possible to get back the large investment.Even if the elevator becomes successful,it will take several years before there are more elevators in the world to get in the competition for space traffic with the spacelines.
Those who are looking for a little bit of adventure and have extra money to spend may want to consider a suborbital flight in space. While a suborbital flight may not be the space mission that you have always dreamed of, it will give you the rare opportunity to see what our planet looks like in a high﹣altitude flight outside our atmosphere. So before you enjoy a trip by elevator to space, enjoy a suborbital flight first.
