Each spring brings a new blossom(开花) of wildflowers in the ditches (路沟) along the highway I travel daily to work.
There is one         blue flower that has always        my eye. I’ve noticed that it blooms only in the morning hours, and the afternoon sun is too warm         it. Every day for approximately two weeks, I see those beautiful      .
This spring, I started a wildflower garden in our yard. I can look out of the         window while doing the dishes and see the flowers. I’ve often thought that those lovely blue flowers from the ditch would look           in that bed alongside       wildflowers.
Everyday I drove        the flowers thinking, “I’ll stop on my way home and dig them.” “Gee, I don’t want to get my good clothes        ...” Whatever the reason, I never stopped to dig them. My husband        gave me a folding shovel(铁锹) one year to be used for that        purpose.
One day on my way home from work, I was       to see that the highway department had moved the ditches and the pretty blue flowers were gone. I thought to myself, “Way to go, you      too long. You       it when you first saw them blooming this spring.”
A week ago we were shocked and saddened to learn that my oldest sister-in-law has a terminal brain tumor(脑瘤晚期). She is 20 years older than my husband and      , because of age and distance, we haven’t been as       as we all would have liked.
I had to see the        between the pretty blue flowers and the       between my husband’s sister and us. I do believe that God has given us some time left to plant some valuable        that will bloom every year for us.
And yes, if I see the blue flowers again, you can bet (打赌)I'll stop and         them to my wildflower garden

Eighty-year-old retired tailor, James McKay, spent Saturday night in jail after 31 thirty-year-old Keith Smith over the head 32 his walking stick.McKay's wife, Laurence told us that while McKay is usually a 33 person, he had been 34 to this act of violence by getting wet just once too often.
Smith lives above the McKays and it appears that not only is he a keen gardener, he is also a 35 collector. Unfortunately for him, the water he sent over his balcony every day ended up on the McKay's, or too often, on the McKays 36 .
“For the last fortnight, since Smith moved into the flat above us, we have hardly dared to go to our37 ,” said Laurence. She added that it wasn't so much the water falling onto their balcony from Smith watering his plant 38 bothered them, it was more the way he cleaned his fish tanks.“We'd be 39 there happily reading our newspapers, when 40 so much water would come from above that we'd be as wet as if we'd 41 with our clothes on! Neither could we get rid of the 42 of fish!”
And on Saturday evening it was just too 43. “It was James's birthday,” explained Laurence, “and I'd made him a birthday cake. The candles were a great sight as you can imagine, but James didn't get to blow them out.” 44 , Smith emptied one of his larger tanks over his balcony and both the McKays and the cake were wet 45.Rarely had Laurence seen McKay move so fast.“I couldn't 46 him.He was up there in a flash. It was the fastest I'd seen him move since 1964.”
Smith is not going to take things further with the police. He has also promised to change his 47 from now on.And what of James McKay? 48 he left the police station, a large crowd of supporters sang him, “Happy Birthday”.“49 the most exciting birthday 50 !” said the cheerful old man.“The best since my adolescence I'd say!”

A friend of mine met with an accident driving in darkness. His legs were so hurt that he couldn’t move. What was the 1 was that he found himself unable to ask for help—his mobile phone went out of 2 as a result of exhausted battery (无电) . Nothing could be done but to 3 in cold wilderness (荒野). It was eight hours later that day broke, and then 4 of the rescue (援救).
It is almost 5 that he could stand (忍受)the horror in the darkness for so long. Even more surprising was his 6 : “First of all, I checked up my 7 conditions and found myself not in mortal (致命的) danger. As there was no 8 to call for help, I leaned back in my seat trying my best to keep the wound from 9 . In this way I dozed (瞌睡) off.”
His story put an end to my regret (遗憾) for the 10 of an exploration adventure (探险) that happened last year. A group of young men 11 to explore a mountain cave and got lost. 12 to find a way out in the dark cave they were frightened and ran anxiously without a sense of 13 . Finally they felt dead in fear and exhaustion. According to the 14 people that found them, the place where they got lost was only about 10 meters away from the 15 of the cave. If they stayed on the spot when they lost their way and tried to 16 themselves, they would probably sense a faint light glimmering (闪烁) not far away.
Don’t you think you can compare it with 17 itself? When you meet with difficulty in life and work, you are lost in darkness. 18 you it’s unclear yet and you needn’t put up struggle 19 . It seems to be a negative (消极)attitude, 20 a person who can afford to do so must have foresight (远见) as well as a great courage in the first place.
