Robert is just one young overseas Chinese to visit his ancestors homeland,as part of the In Search of Roots summer camp program. The program by the local government of Guangdong Province. This program started in 1980,and so far thousands of overseas Chinese students to China to look for their families’ roots. The young people are usually between 16 and 25 years old. Most,like Robert,can hardly speak any Chinese and China before.
The students mainly visit parts of Guangdong Province in southern China. Carnegie was born in 1888 to a poor farming family in the central United States. The boy didn’t see a train he was 12 years old. In his teens, he had to get up at 3 a.m. every day to milk the cows in his family.
