I used to travel by air a great deal of when I was a boy. My parents used to live in South America and I used to fly there from Europe in the holidays. An airhostess would take charge of me and I never had an unpleasant experience. I am used to traveling (习惯于某事)by air and only on one occasion have I ever felt frightened. After taking off, we were flying low over the city and slowly gaining height(逐步升高), when the plane suddenly turned round and flew back to the airport. While we were waiting to land, an air-hostess told us to keep calm and to get off the plane quietly as soon as it had touched down. Everybody on board was worried and we were curious to find out what had happened. Later we learned that there was a very important person on board. The police had been told (被告诉,得知)that a bomb had been planted on the plane. After we had landed, the plane was searched thoroughly(被彻底搜查). Fortunately, nothing was found and five hours later we were able to take off again. The writer used to fly much when he was a boy.

Good morning, boys and girls. Today I’ll talk about going online.
We know that there are too many Net bars (网吧) around us. The Internet can make our lives interesting. Many of us like going online very much because we can learn how to use computers. We can learn English and read some newspapers and magazines to know more around us. It may make us clever in playing computer games. Also when we send e-mails to our friends, they can get them at once. It can help us keep in touch with people from all over the world.
But some students spend too much time in playing computer games and some stay in the Net bars all day and all night. It takes them too much time to chat online so they do worse in their lessons and they don’t want to study any more. I think we shouldn’t get online when it is time for us to study. We can do it in summer or winter holidays. I think we should get online with our teachers or parents.
At the same time, if we have lots of free time, we can do some activities after class. We usually have activities from 4:50 to 5:50 in the afternoon. You can play basketball or football. We also have some interest groups in school, such as drawing, singing and dancing. We can go to the English corner on Monday afternoons. We hope we can spend more time on our subjects or on such activities that we can learn a lot and spend less time on the Internet.
That’s all! Thank you.

Dear Mom and Dad,
The time is coming: I’m leaving high school, and I think you both for all your help during these 17 years. I still remember when you said, “You can be your own hero.” I’m so glad you are my parents, especially (尤其) when I hear some children say they don’t get on well with theirs. I’m glad that you support (支持) me when I decide to do anything. You always try to help, and that’s important to me.
Dad, I remember when you first took me fishing. I never caught anything but I did love enjoy it. I also remember when you would get angry (发火) with me. I understand you were only trying to show me the right way. When I would cry, you would always be there to try to make me full of hope. That’s what I call a good, loving, caring dad. Sometimes you and Mom don’t agree with me, but you are there by my side in anything that I do, and that’s why I love you both so much.
Mom, I enjoy going out with you and having our happy time every Friday night. And I hope that never changes. I love telling you everything. The best part about you is that you listen.
