To me, life without music would not be exciting. I know that this is not true for everybody. Many people get along quite well without going to the concert, or listening to the tape. But music plays an important part in everyone’s life, whether he knows it or not. Try not to think, for example, what films or TV plays would be without music. I’m not sure about it.
Now, we can enjoy music more easily—the kind of music we hear in the concert hall. But if we look at some parts of music more closely, we find them in our everyday life too—the melody of a bird in the woods and so on. So music has meaning for everyone.
It is well said, “ Through music a child enters a world of beauty, express(表达) himself from his heart, feels the joy of doing things alone, learns to take care of others, develops his mind and makes his body strong.”
From the text, we learn that many people____________.

A.don’t realize the importance of music
B.get along quite well without music
C.go to the concert instead of enjoying music
D.think music would be less exciting than films.

The writer thinks if there is no music in films or TV plays, _____________.

A.the cinema and theatre will be quiet
B.there will be more audience(观众)
C.everything will be as exciting as before

Something caught my eyes when I was walking down the street. Two silver coins were shining in a melting(溶化) snow bank, so I dug(挖) through the snow looking for more. Of course, I just ended up with really cold hands. I slipped the two coins into my pocket and went home, colder but richer. I began to think about how to spend the money...
Two days later, Mary and her little sister were searching the snow banks. "Finders are keepers" was my first thought. I didn't want to hand them out even though Susy was already crying. " I dropped them right here," she said between tears. Her hands were cold and red for digging in the snow. Maybe they slid down the street with the melting snow. Let's dig over here." Mary's voice sounded confident.
"They'll never know" was my second thought, and I walked past them. " Phil, have you seen
two sliver coins?" asked Mary. Susy looked up from digging. Her eyes were hopeful.
"Tell a lie" was my third thought. "As a matter of fact," I hesitated(犹豫),“I dug two coins out of that snow bank just a few days ago. I wondered who might have lost them." Susy hugged me with a big smile, "Oh, thank you, thank you."

This is the VOA Special English Agriculture Report.
One of the sweetest gifts of nature is a red, ripe strawberry. There are three basic kinds of strawberries: June bearing, ever bearing and day neutrals.
June bearing are ready in the spring, so they are also called spring bearing. But gardeners will not get a crop during the first spring after planting. Ever bearing , when planted after the last winter freeze, will produce fruit during spring or early summer. A second or sometimes third crop will be ready in late summer. Day neutrals produce fruit throughout the summer months.
The University of Illinois Urban Extension says ever bearers and day neutrals are especially good for home gardens. Plant strawberries in the spring as soon as the soil is dry enough. Try to plant late in the day or on a cloudy day. The soil should cover just the roots and not the crown on top of the plant. Runners will appear in a few weeks.
Strawberries grown in containers(容器) need a soil depth of about twenty-five to thirty centimeters. Be sure the container has holes in the bottom.
Strawberries grow well in loamy soil(沃土) that lets water pass through easily. Carl Wilson at the Colorado State University Extension suggests mixing about three to five percent organic(有机的) material into the soil.
根据短文内容,判断下列句子正误。正确的用“A”表示,不正确的用“B”表示。
The strawberry is a kind of fruit with red color and sweet taste.
June bearing is usually planted in winter of last year.
Strawberries can grow both in gardens and in containers.
The right time to plant strawberries is on a wet day.
Strawberries only produce fruit once.
