Xiaolan，who is fourteen, a middle school student in Southern China. She is one of the best student in her class andshe was won an award for young scientists last year. When seating in the classroom, she looks just like all her classmates. And after class her life is obvious different. She was born without the ability to use her legs and [she has no feeling below the waist. She had to use a wheelchair to get around and it often takes her a little long to do everyday things, such as getting out of bed, getting dressed and going to the school. So far she has created many programmes and one of which received an award at her province’s science fair.

When Joe left university, he got a good job in a bike’s factory. And after he had worked there for some years, he decided to have a change. So he put a notice several newspapers, says what experience he had and the kind of job he would like to have. One of the answer he received was from a man who was looking for a job either. This man wrote to him, “Dear sir, when you get a new job, to be kind enough to give your name and address to your present boss as I have been trying to find a position like yours for a long time.” After he had finished reading the letter, he suddenly realizes what he had done was real foolish.

After I finished school ,I began to look for a work. Now one month has past ,but I haven't found the job I’m interested .Last Sunday morning ,I received a phone call from a man calling Mr.Zhang .He said on the phone , “I hear you do well on your studies .I may offer you a job .” I entered into his office with a beating heart .How I wished I can go through the job-hunting talk ,and that she would take on me as an assistant. But to my surprised, what he said disappointed me. That he needed was only a model.

I just came back from Britain last week . I was luckily enough to be one of the students from different country to visit the UK from Feb .16 to 28 . We paid a visit to a good many of places ,like London ,Oxford or the Lake District . I learned much about British culture and history in London ,where was my favourite . I also liked Oxford , in which I saw much more old buildings . The Lake District was beautiful ,but it was pity that it rained heavily when they were there . The most excited thing for me in Britain was that I make a lot of friends there .

Like most of my schoolmates, I have neither brothers nor sisters—on other words, I am an only child. My parents love me dearly of course and will do all they can make sure that I get a good education. They did not want me to do any work at family; they want me to devote all my time on my studies so that I’ll get good marks in all my subject. We may be one family and live under a same roof, but we do not seem to get much time to talk about together. It looks as if my parents treat me as a visitor and a guest. Do they really understand their own daughter? What things are in other homes, I wonder.
