Do you want to serve as a volunteer for the Olympic Games? If your answer is “yes”, then “why” Why do you wan to be a volunteer? Here are some reasons: You’re willing to do something for the Games; you are looking for a job; you have a chance（机会） to meet sports stars; and you can watch the Games close.
Which one is your answer? You’d better not choose the last reason, because most of the volunteers will not be able to watch the Games. In fact, the volunteer work can make you tired and bored. Most of the volunteer will do things such as translating(翻译), guiding the traffic（交通）, and cleaning up.
If you want to be a volunteer for the Games, you should be honest(诚实) and kind-hearted, have a sense of responsibility(责任感) , and be healthy. As a volunteer for this project(项目), you should know not only Chinese culture and history but also some other countries’ traditions and habits. To get a better communication with the foreigners, the volunteer should be able to speak English.
