Great changes have been taken place over the past five years in my hometown, that is a famous historic city. The streets used to be narrow, filling with small shops. Rubbish can be seen everywhere. Nowadays the streets are wider and clean with trees and flowers planted along the sidewalks. Besides, four new parks have been opened for the public and a number of high buildings has arisen in the city. However, some of the historic building have been torn down to make room for the high buildings. Our city now is modern and clean and it doesn’t have its own special characteristics. In my opinion, we should try to protect all the historic
buildings in process of urban development.

On January 5th, students in our school visited Robot World, which we saw a great number of robot. It was amazed to find those robots could do a lot of things just like real people, included playing chess, playing the piano and drawing pictures. What’s more, the robots were in different kinds and shapes, which made us enjoyable. In addition, that excited me most is the show given by a group of robots. They danced just as if they were dancers on the stage. By visiting Robot World, I have learned a lot of about robots, especial about their functions and shapes. What’s your attitude to April Fool’s Day? A survey has done in our school and it shows that there are three different opinion. About 40% of the students thought it fun to have such a specially day to play jokes on each others. Besides, it adds many pleasure to our school life. At the same time, we can take this chance to test that our classmates are clever enough. But 30% of us don’t like the day because everything that seems in disorder and you don’t know whom to believe or how to do. Nowadays, there is a increasing number of people joining in the activities of volunteering．It’s well-known that volunteering jobs are making contributions to society with something in return．It’s as the Spirit of Lei Feng．However, knowing this, there are still many people would like to devote themselves to this trend．For instance, the 2008 Beijing Olympic Games had such many volunteers．They make lots of contributions to the success of the Olympics．Moreover, we can often see many students go to visit the old to take warm to them．Even though some people’s career is a volunteer．They are ready to helping others．Although the volunteers are much more common, we still need to thank they for devoting themselves to society．
