When you meet someone for the first time, you will get a general idea in your mind of that person in the first moment. Your feelings about other people, however, are really just show the way that you look at yourself. Your reactions to others say more about you than they do about others. You cannot really love or hate about yourself. We are usually drawn to those who are most like us and may dislike those who have the same characters as ourselves that we dislike.
Therefore, you can allow others to be the mirror to see more clearly your own feelings of self-worth. And, you can view the people you judge negatively (否定地) as mirrors to show you what you are not accepting about yourself.
To live peacefully with others, you will need to learn patience. A big challenge is to let your judgment of others be a lifelong research of yourself. Your task is to consider all the decisions and judgments you make onto others carefully and to begin to see whether you can use them to help yourself and become whole.
Several days ago I had a business lunch with a man who showed objectionable table manners. My first feeling was to judge him as rude. When I noticed that I was judging him, I stopped and asked myself what I was feeling. I discovered that I was nervous to be seen with someone who was eating with his mouth open and loudly blowing his nose. I was very surprised to find how much I cared about how the other people in the restaurant judged me.
Remember that your judgment of someone will not serve as some kind of protective thing against you becoming like him. Just because I judge my lunch partner as rude, it does not prevent me from ever looking or acting like him. In the same way, my patience to him would not cause me to suddenly begin eating my food with my mouth open.
When you get close to life in this manner, those with whom you hate very much as well as those whom you admire and love can be seen as mirrors, guiding you to discover parts of yourself that you dislike and to embrace your greatest characters you are proud of.In the writer’s opinion, when we judge others, we are really ______.
A.treating them in a polite way |
B.showing what we ourselves are |
C.guiding ourselves to know them |

D.Because he was too nervous to speak his opinions out right there. |

A.tell us a story that happened in a restaurant |

What do you use to unlock your cellphone? A password? A fingerprint? Or simply a glance(一瞥)?
On September 12, 2017, Apple introduced its iPhone X, which has an eye﹣catching feature (特色)﹣Face ID.
With Face ID, Apple says, you can unlock your new iPhone by just looking atit. It is powered by a so﹣called TrueDepth camera system built into the front of the iPhone X.
When the camera system sees a person's face, it uses 30,000 unseen dots (点) to "'map"(勾画)the shape and outline of the face. A mathematical model of the face will then be created and stored (储存) in the phone.
The next time the person looks at the iPhone X, the same dots are mapped onto his or her face and compared to the stored model. If the two match, then the phone unlocks.
This happens in less than a second.
Apple says the system is smart. If you change your hairstyle, put on sunglasses or makeup, or use the phone in the dark, Face ID still works.
Although the technology sounds fancy, there are still concerns (担心). For example, will Face ID work for twins?
According to Apple, the chance of others to unlock your iPhone X using Face ID is one in a million. Face ID can tell the difference between twins, but the error rating (出错率) rises. So one would need to set a password then.
Apple also emphasizes (强调) that Face ID only unlocks when you stare atit. It is what Apple calls"attention aware (察觉)". So the phone won't unlock if you are just glancing at the phone for the time. It won't work either if someone puts the phone at your sleeping face or your photo.

This summer I attended my first music festival. Unlike most of the festival﹣goers. We didn't buy tickets.Instead, we volunteered as festival stewards. We each worked 3 shifts﹣each shift was 8 hours long﹣ in exchange for a free ticket to the festival.
Leeds Festival is a large music festival which takes place yearly at the end of August. And thousands of people attend it each year.
There were several diffrerent stage, each catering for a different music taste:rock pop, alternative and dance. As well as the fantasic music on offer, there were also funfair rides, food outlets and a silent disco. I loved silent discos:everyone had a set of headphones with two channels and music was played through the headphonos. As a result, people could dance and sing along to completely different songs!
While we weren't working. we were freeto enjoy the festival. We saw a wide variety of artists across the weekend. I really enjoyed seeing Imagine Dragons, Vampire Weekend and, of course, Antie Monkeys.
We camped for five nights and it was freezing every night! However, we had a really nice campsite I had a great time and would definitely be returning the next year!
