According to a new survey, students’ safety has become a big problem. Now in some cities of China, many schools start a new lesson: self-protection (自我保护). Students like this lesson. They can learn how to save lives and know how to stop danger before it really happens.

If you are in a traffic accident
If a car hits you, you should remember the car number. If it is a bicycle, try to call your parents before you let the rider go. This is because you don’t know how seriously you are hurt.

Don’t stay in high places and stay away from trees.
When there is a fire
Get away as fast as you can. Put wet things on your body and try to find an exit(出口). Don’t take the lift.

It's Saturday morning and Tony's sitting at the kitchen table, staring(凝视)into space and playing with a piece of bread. He's not even hungry. Is he ill? No, but he does have a problem. He has nothing to do and there's just one reason: the Internet is down and Tony has nothing to do.
When he woke up this morning, Tony was feeling great. He jumped out of bed full of plans for the weekend ahead. It would be a weekend like any other—a great weekend. But that was before he turned on his computer and wasn’t able to go online. No Internet changed everything.
Just as Tony is wondering how he can possibly have a normal weekend without the Internet, his mum walks into the kitchen. “Is everything OK?” she asks. “No, mum, everything is not OK,” her sad son replies. “I can't go online and I have homework to finish.” His mum laughs, “The word program is still working, so what's the problem?”
What's the problem? Tony can't believe his own mother isn’t able to see how serious the problem really is. To start with, he still needs to do research for his homework. He knows his mum will tell him to go to the library but he hates the library. It's so dark and uncomfortable. And forget homework—what about the rest of his weekend! Once, there was a big apple tree. A little boy loved to climb to the tree top, ate the apples and played around it. With time on, the little boy grew up. He no longer played around it every day. One day, the boy came back, sad. “Come and play with me,” the tree said. “I am no longer a kid.” The boy replied, “I need money to buy toys.” “I don’t have money...,but you can pick all my apples and sell them.” The boy was so excited. He picked all apples and left happily. The boy never came back after that.
One day, the boy returned. “Come and play with me,” the tree said happily. “I have no time to play. We need a house for my family.” “You can cut off my branches.” So the boy cut all the branches off the tree and left happily. But he never came back since then.
Again, the boy returned and said. “I want to make a navigation across the sea. Can you give me a boat?” “Use my trunk(主干) to build your boat.” So the boy cut the trunk to make a boat. He went sailing and never showed up for a long time. Finally, the boy returned after he left for so many years. “Sorry, my boy. But I don’t have anything for you anymore. The only thing left is my dying roots.” the tree said with tears.
“I don’t need much now, just a place to rest. I am tired after all these years.” The boy replied.
“Good! Old tree roots is the best place to rest. Come and rest with me.” The boy sat down and the tree was glad and smiled with tears.
You may think that the boy is cold to the tree but that’s how we are treating our parents. The tree is our parent. When we were young, we loved to play with them.
