October 1st is our National Day．It was Sunday．In the morning，our teacher took us to the park．Oh，many people were there．We could see flags（旗）and flowers everywhere．We saw people dancing in the park everywhere．We had a good time．
This morning I did some cleaning．Then I went to school．In the class，our teacher told us a very interesting story．It was about a French scientist Ampere．Once he was walking in the street when he began to work on a problem on a“blackboard”with a piece of chalk．But it was not a blackboard．It was the back of a carriage（马车）．Ampere didn’t notice （注意）it at all．How hard he worked at his problem！

Computer games are more and more popular with teenagers. Games are fun. After hours of homework it’s great to relax by playing a game. But do games ever do kidsany harm? And are there any ways parents can help kids stay away from bad games? US researches are trying to find answers to these questions.
One problem found that parents are not taking enough notice of their kids’games –playinghabits. Many games sells output controls (输出控件) on the games to help parents make sure that children don’t play things unsuitable for them, said David Walsh, president（院长）of the national Institute（协会）on media and the Family. Parents need to watch the games kids are playing and how much time they are spending playing them.
The study found that playing games too long can affect kids’ health as well as their schoolwork. Almost half of all “ heavy games” are six to 17 years old. These kids are more likely to have weight and eyesight problems than other kids. Playing too many games also affects（v影响）how children do in school.

A Chinese cartoon company on Thursday launches (发起) a comic design competition in South Korea for collecting a cartoon character“Spring Wawa", which means“a doll of the Spring Festival" in Chinese, to represent culture of China's Lunar New Year.
South Korea is the first stop of the competition held by Shenjie Cartoon Comic Corporation. The competition opens to cartoonists all over the world to select a unique comic character for the Spring Festival.
“Santa Claus has spread western culture round the world and developed the economy of Christmas, which inspires me to create our own 'Spring Wawa' to spread C'hina's traditional festival culture overseas and stimulate related economy," said the manager of Shenjie Cartoon Comic Corporation.
Impressed by the rapid development of South Korea's cartoon industry in recent years, the manager decided to come to Seoul to look for new creative ideas from cartoonists here, and thus add ”more modern elements and beauty" into the design of“Spring Wawa".
“A new story of China's Spring Festival will be told by the new 'Spring Wawa'. This competition will also create new opportunities for exchanges and cooperation between China and South Korea's culture and creative industry."
This competition will last for almost a year for collecting comic design works among artists from home and abroad. The winner of the Highest Golden Award will get around 48,900 U.S. dollars.

In my second year of high school, the class was scheduled to run the mile．
