Living in two different cultures is not an easy thing. When I was ten years old, my parents (move) to the US from Sri Lanka, which is island off the coast of India.
we now live in the US, we follow the customs and traditions of Sri Lanka. I have learned (speak) 3 languages，including English. I eat a variety of foods and celebrate different holidays that have little to do with my culture.
However，there are many (advantage) of being part of two cultures. Sometimes，speaking a language at home and speaking another language in school can be confusing; sometimes I have trouble(express) my thoughts in English because they understand me well；sometimes my culture does make me feel far away from others because I feel too different. I am (close) to my culture of Sri Lanka than that of the US. I don’t listen to English music as much as I listen to Indian music. , I feel very separated from my friends when I don’t know what song are talking about.

Making new friends means (put) yourself on a limb（困境） and asking others not only to accept you ,but to like you and want to be around you as well . ( fortunate ) , there is no magical solution this part of the process , so if you want to make friends , take a deep breath and jump right in .
first step to make new friends is figuring out what is holding you back . A lot of times people are interested in making new friends don’t know why they don’t have them . They can’t see that own actions are working against them .
Once you can identify what is keeping you from making new friends , you need to work through these concerns . This can be painful you will need to put yourself outside of your comfort zones to see any real differences .
The next step is to shine in these social settings so that others will leave with a positive (impress) . if you find social situations hard , just rely on a few simple rules .
When you feel (confidence) that you’ve made some great friends , get out there and celebrate with them . No matter you decide to do , the important thing is to celebrate your new friends and hopefully continue cultivating (结交) more.

My sister Daisy worked at Standard Bank in Malawi. When she got m，we were all excited. She invited me to her house to help her open the gifts and ssome thankyou notes to all the _(亲戚) and friends that came to the wedding party.
