During hot summer days, we like to wear white or light﹣colored clothes. That's because we believe light colors can make us feel cool. But in the deserts of Africa, a tribe(部落) called the Bedouins dress in black robes(袍子). So does it really matter what color our clothing is?

Scientists tested this by checking the body temperature of a person dressed in white and another person dressed in black. They found that although black clothes do take in more heat, they also lose this heat before it can reach our body.

Their judgement was that it doesn't matter if people wear black or white clothing when it's hot out. What matters is whether the clothing is loose(宽松的) or tight(紧的). Loose clothing is cooler than tight clothing.
