This is a heart-warming story. It tells about a woman who finally decided to ask her boss for a raise in salary(薪水). All day she felt nervous. Late in the afternoon she summoned(鼓起) the courage to approach her boss. To her delight, the boss agreed to a raise. She was so delighted.
