My mother is a teacher work in a key high school. She is too busy that she often has to get up early and stay up late. In addition to this, she hardly has any time to take exercises. She has been on poor health for some time. My father and I are worried that she may fall ill if she works too hard. These days I’m thinking why to develop my mother’s interest in playing sports. Considered that today is Mother’s Day, I decided buy a pair of jogging shoes for her. I secretly put them on the desk in her study. When my mother entered into her study this evening, she looked surprised, but she immediate realized my purpose. She promises that she would go jogging every evening.

It is known to all that we students today have to fix our attention to our lessons, so we know few of society. A holiday is the best time and the best chance to make up for that. Take a part-time job is a good form of social practice. That we have learned in books and in class can’t have the same important effect us as what we have learned through personal practice. In social practice, we can surely make a progress in both knowledge or practical ability. Beside, when we take a part-time job, we may got paid more or less to help our family. Thus, I will say senior school students should take part-time jobs in their holidays, if possibly.

This summer, I paid a visit in my hometown. What made me really sad was that it had changed a lot of.
In the past, my hometown was very beautiful, with small river run through the village. Tall and straight trees, beautiful flowers or green grass could be seen everywhere. Many tall building are found on both sides of the river, but the river has been bad polluted as waste water runs directly into it and there is now few fish swimming in it. While playing near my home, I notice a turkey with its head under a rock. It looked stuck. My friends and I watched a while, but the bird couldn’t free it.
I ran home and told my mom, and we decided to call the bird rescue center. When the rescue workers arrived, she helped the bird out from under a rock. She checked to see that its wings were OK, or if it had any wounds or breaking bones. It was only being skinny from not eating. The worker said the turkey would be set freely if it fully recovered. If not, it would stay at the center. After leaving she thanked my mom and me for calling.

I couldn’t believe my ears when I heard my name calling. I was chosen to play a role of the heroine (女主角）in the play, what was my dream. As a shy and thin girl, I was used to be quite afraid of speaking in public. But my parents and teachers always encourage me to do so. Now I have changed great. In class, I am often the last one to stand up and answer question even if I may make some mistakes. No pains, no gains. Now I am always brave enough overcome the difficulty in front of me and have changed into a lively girl. So my experience shows that we should not be afraid of losing face and only in this way can they make progresses.

Dear editor,
I’m sorry to occupy your precious time, and I really want to tell you anything about the problem of some people keeping too many pets nowadays. I take the problem more and more seriously for the following reason. First of all, as it is known to people, pets make loud noise that trouble residents a lot. What’s more, it is widely accepted that animal waste pollutes the environment, where makes people quite uncomfortable. Many owners like taking their pets to public place where they may frighten children or even bite people. The mostly important is that pets can spread some diseases and this has attracted much attention. Take all these factors into consideration, I sincerely hope that I can get help from you and expect the media do something for this.
