Next time you’re in a public place, take a look around you, and count how many people are using their phones. I can tell you that it is probably more than half, whether you’re in a bus, in a café or simply walking down the street.
I’m not saying that I am not an example of this, but I wonder how people can spend so much time on their phones without actually talking to anyone in particular. We can now do almost anything with a phone. But has it gone too far? We spend too much time on our mobiles but not enough time talking to people in real life.
Last time I visited London, I traveled by subway. I noticed that almost everybody else
was on their phones except those who were asleep. People were playing games, reading articles and listening to music.
Recently, my smart phone broke and I had to use an old basic phone just to keep in touch with my family and friends. I could only send text messages, make calls and play one game with it. And I loved it. I loved being free from the Internet, and I really didn’t mind what my friends were doing or what the latest news was. I could enjoy my time watching the people around me and seeing what was going on.
However, I  knew that as soon as I got my smart phone back, I would be one of those people once again.
The writer finds that _________ people are using their phones in public places.

A.most B.few C.half D.all

Which of the following cannot be done on a phone?

A.Playing games. B.Sending text messages.
C.Listening to music. D.Having meals.

The writer could use his old basic phone to __________.

A.surf the Internet
B.watch the people around him
C.play one game
D.look through the latest news

What didn’t the writer see on the subway when he visited London?

A.People were sleeping.
B.People were talking with each other.
C.People were playing games.
D.People were using their phones.

From this article, we know that __________.

A.everybody was on their phones when the writer traveled in London by subway
B.most people spend enough time talking to people in real life
C.the writer enjoyed his time without his smart phone
D.the writer won’t use his smart phone any more

Even if sadness is a part of life, let’s try to make it small. Here are a few simple ways to help you feel better when you are feeling sad.
1. Stand up straight and this helps your energy flow(流动). When your energy is flowing freely, you can flow too.

3. Listen to music. It can be your favourite music. Some kinds of music work better than others, so try and find out what kind of music works the best for you.
4. Take some “me” time. You can find pleasure in reading a book, watching a sunrise or having a hot bath, or something like that.
5. Exercise. Even something as simple as taking a walk will get your blood flowing. It is a great way to clear your mind of anything that makes you sad.
These ways will cheer you up when you are down, but don’t just use them when you are sad. Try and practice them every day to make them a habit. You will be surprised to learn that these simple ways will keep your sadness away. But if you are in a deep depression(沮丧), go to see a doctor.

When people are dirty, they take a bath or a shower. Animals don't have soap(肥皂), but they do keep themselves clean. Many animals with hair, such as dogs and cats, keep themselves clean by licking (舔)their hair. They also use their teeth to pull out small dirty things from their hair. When they lick their hair, it is almost as if they are using a wet brush to clean themselves.
Birds take baths to stay clean. First they walk through water that is not deep. Next they beat(拍打) their wings to dry themselves. Birds also take sand baths(沙浴)on the ground. It is thought that they do this to drive away parasites(寄生虫).
Even fish need cleaning. Fish have very little parasites that live in their mouths. Some fish live by eating these parasites off other fish. Such fish are called "cleaner fish". Larger fish will open their mouths so that the cleaner fish can get in to clean.
Some animals that live in groups clean each other, such as monkeys. They often clean one another. One monkey may clean an area that the other monkey can't reach. How interesting it is!
