Eating habits are different in different countries. The Chinese have a saying “Eat good things for breakfast, eat a big meal for lunch, but eat less at dinner.” Many people in the USA agree that one starts a day with a good breakfast, but their ideas about lunch and dinner are different.
Most people in America only give themselves a short time to have their lunch, so they eat a small lunch. After work, they can have more time to eat a big dinner. Also a quiet dinner at home with all the family talking about their day is a way to take a good rest after a long, hard day of work.
Eating at restaurants is also different. In China, very often you can hear people talking and laughing loudly, and they are just having a good time. In America it is not like this. They usually eat a good meal far away from the noisy places. Albert was an ordinary worker in an oil company in America. His workmates gave a nickname（绰号）“Four dollars a bucket of oil” below his name whenever and wherever he wrote down his name.
As time went by, people forgot his real name. Later, when Rockefeller, the board chairman(董事长)of the oil company, heard of it, he was very surprised, so he invited Albert to come to his office.
“Some people give you a nickname for ‘Four dollars a bucket’. Why aren’t you angry?” asked Rockefeller with some puzzlement in his eyes.
“Oh! Mr. Rockefeller! I like this nickname very much, because ‘Four dollars a bucket’ is our company’s advertisement. Today, roller-skating is easy and fun. But a long time ago, it wasn’t easy at all. Before 1750, no one had any ideas of roller-skating. That changed because of a man named Joseph Merlin. He liked to make things and play the violin in his free time. Joseph Merlin was a man of ideas and dreams. People called him a dreamer.

Depending on yourself
Growing up is not always easy .When we face difficulties ,a spirit of depending yourself is more useful than crying for help .That ‘s what Hong Zhanhui’s story of growing from boy to man with family hardship tells us .
Hong was born in 1982 in a poor family in Xihua county (县),henan Province .When he was only 11,his father became badly ill and one day he came back with an unwanted baby girl .A year later Hong’s mother left home . She no longer wanted to live such a poor life and face her sick hus-band .So everything hard fell on to the young boy’s shoulders :to take care of his father and the sister Chenchen ,and to go on to study .
