One day I was in the back yard teaching my little nephew how to play football. He said that play football was something easier. His words immediately bring back memories of my childhood. As a little boy, I told my uncle I wanted to become football star like him. However, he taught me how to kick the ball. After some practice, I told him it was hardly for me to kick the ball the way he kicked them. He talked to me about not giving up on how I really wanted to do. Thank to his guidance and encouragement, and I’ve become a football star in my school.

Last February, I was on holiday in Beijing with my family. One morning, I was sleeping soundly while I was woken up by a suddenly cry of my sister, “It’s snowing.” I got up quickly, dressed me and opened the window. Wow, I couldn’t believe in my eyes. Everything including trees, roofs and grass were covered with thick snow. In distance I saw lots of cars, like small white box, moving slowly on the road. I also saw some lovely birds flying happily in the snow. How a beautiful sight! I became exciting because I had never seen snow before. In no time, I ran out with my camera and take many photos to record my first experience of snow.
Many scientists believe that life begins in the ocean long ago. For age man used the ocean to discover and explore new lands. Now man spends a great deal of time or money discover the ocean. We know it is rich at minerals which the world need. We know too that it contains a plenty of food for all the people in the world. We know that if the salt were taken from it, it’s water would turn the deserts into rich farm lands. We know a great deal about this land frontier, as it has called. But we still need to learn many more about it.

I used to be a very self-centered person, but in the past two years I really changed. I have started to think about other people after I think about myself. I am happy that I am becoming the different person.
I think my change started when I was at Palomar College. At first, I just want to get my degree and be left alone. I thought I was smarter than everyone else, so I hardly ever talked to anyone in my classes. By the end of my first semester, I was really lonely. That seemed as if everyone besides me had made friend and was having fun. So I tried an experiment. I started asking people around me how they were doing, and whether they were having trouble, I offered to help. That was real a big step for me. By the end of the year, I had several new friends, two of them are still my best friends today.

Today is Sunday. The sky is full of sunshine, so does my life. At about 9: 00 am, I go to the bookstore with my friends. There was a lot of new books. I didn’t know what one to buy because these books were all useful to me. At 10: 00, we went to cinema. The film was called The Earthquake of Tangshan but some people were waiting outside the booking office. It took to us about two hours to see it. Having seen the film, everyone was deeply moving. Some friends even burst out tears. That’s a really wonderful film. It is very worth seeing again. What a happy day! I hope tomorrow I will be even happier!
Once a man got on a bus for New York. He hid in∧ toilet, because he did not want to pay. But a passenger saw her. She tapped the person in front of her on the shoulder and say, "There's a bum(流浪汉) in the toilet. Tell the bus driver." The message was past from person to person. But anywhere along the way, it changed. The bus driver was told that there was a bomb in the toilet. He immediate stopped the bus and telephoned the police. When the police came in, they told the passengers to get off the bus or stay far away. Then they closed the highway. This soon caused a 15-miles-long traffic jam. Under the help of a dog, the police searched for two hours. Of course they found no bomb!
