Nobody can succeed without making mistakes. I can well remember that last year an English speech contest held in our school. Because my English was the best in our class, so all my classmates encouraged me to take part in the contest. I was so shy a girl that I even dared not answer questions in class. I was afraid of making mistakes in front of so many judge. At last, my classmate Wang Ying, her English was not very good, take part in the contest and won the third prize. Xiaolan，who is fourteen, a middle school student in Southern China. She is one of the best student in her class andshe was won an award for young scientists last year. When seating in the classroom, she looks just like all her classmates. And after class her life is obvious different. It is three years now since I graduate from No. 1 High School. Last Sunday, the class that I was on held a get-together, which took us a long time prepare. It was indeed not easy to get in the touch with everybody and set a well time for all of us. My grandmother is a village woman. She is already in her seventy. Although she received little school education, but she is aware that knowledge is of great important to young people. We know it is rich at minerals which the world need. We know too that it contains a plenty of food for all the people in the world. We know that if the salt were taken from it, it’s water would turn the deserts into rich farm lands. We know a great deal about this land frontier, as it has called. But we still need to learn many more about it.
