A squirrel(松鼠) that was nearly killed nine years ago continues to visit the family that saved, raised and later sent her into the wild.

In October 2009, a four﹣week﹣old squirrel was almost killed by an owl(猫头鹰). Luckily, a wildlife rescue group saved her and left her in the care of Brantley Harrison and her family in South Carolina. The Harrisons often look after wild animals and later send them back into the wild.

The Harrisons named her Bella. With three other squirrels, Bella stayed in Brantley's care until spring. During her stay Bella acted similarly to the other squirrels. In April 2010,the squirrels were sent back into the wild. Bella, however, wasn't ready to leave her human family. Within days of being released, she started visiting them, looking for treats. Brantley said that the other squirrels also came back over the first few days, but within a week they stopped coming by and began to avoid people.

"Bella usually sits at the front door, waiting for someone to notice her. She comes almost every day," said Brantley. Her husband John often brings Bella nuts as she is usually waiting by the door for him. Actually Bella has become a member of the family.

My holiday is coming. Yesterday I asked my friends about the best way to travel in the USA. They said the best way was to go by bus and told me the reasons.

To fly, of course, is the fastest way, but you can't see anything during your stay in the air but the blue sky and white clouds. So it's not very interesting to you. And the cost is very high.

To travel by train is relaxing, because you can walk and buy food and drinks on it. You can also see cities and the countryside through the windows. But sometimes it's crowded on the train. And it's hard to buy train tickets during holidays.

To travel by bus is easy, cheap and convenient, though not so fast as travelling by plane or so comfortable as by train. You can find buses almost in every city, big or small. That makes travel easy.

I took their advice. So I decided to take a bus to the south coast for an interesting trip.

(1)How many ways to travel are mentioned in the passage?

A. Two.

B. Three.

C. Four.

D. Five.

(2)To travel by train is relaxing because

A. you can buy food and drinks on it

B. you can walk everywhere on it

C. You can buy tickets easily

D. you can talk loudly on it

(3)At last the writer decided to travel to the USA for the interesting trip.

A. by air

B. by train

C. by bus

D. by ship

(4)Which of the following is NOT true according to the passage?

A. You can't see anything during your stay in the air.

B. The fastest way to travel is by plane.

C. You can enjoy beautiful sights(风景)through the windows by train.

D. Travelling by bus is not so comfortable as by train.

Do you ever wish you were as thin as a model(模特) or as strong as your favourite football player? Maybe you wish you were taller or just thinner a little. Those thoughts are a natural part of growing up.

But learning what you can and can't change about your body is part of growing up, too. It can be hard to do. But when people accept the way they look, they often feel happier.

Some children worry that they're not growing and developing as fast as their friends. It's important to know that puberty(青春期) doesn't happen at the same time for every child. And there are no special medicines that can make it happen sooner!

Eating healthy foods and exercising more can make all children feel better. Why? Because they will help you feel energetic (精力充沛的) and keep your body working just the way it should be.

Watching TV and playing computer games can be fun, but they don't do much for your body because you sit when you do them.

But when you move your body﹣by playing, dancing, taking part in sports, or even cleaning your room﹣you exercise your muscles(肌肉). When you exercise the muscle, it gets stronger. And when you have strong muscles, you can do whatever you want to do!

根据短文内容,回答问题(1﹣4),英译汉(5).

(1)When do people often feel happier about their bodies according to the passage?

(2)What do some children worry about in the third paragraph?

(3)Why do not watching TV and playing computers do much for your body?

(4)How does your muscle become when you exercise it? (仅用一词回答)

The first Chinese actor captured (征服) the hearts of many Chinese in the USA. He read a letter by Zhuge Liang(181~ 234)to the emperor of Shuhan during the Three Kingdoms(220~280)period in the new season of Growling Tiger and Roaring Dragon(《虎啸龙吟》)

The letter has been read by so many students. We would never have thought that the text written in old Chinese could be so beautifully read in another language. As a result, foreigners begin to show interest in Rommance of the Three Kingdoms, translated bt C.H. Brewitt﹣Tailor and Robert E. Hegel.

Earlier in November 1979, pupils in England were able to watch a new TV program called Monkey. Most of them were hearing the story for the first time. However, the story of the Monkey King isn't new to Chinese Children in the traditional Chinese book Journey to the West.

As soon as the TV programme came out more than 30years ago, western children became interested in reading this story because the clever Monkey King keeps fighting to help the weak and never gives up.

Chinese scholars(学者) should do a better job of introducing Chinese literature(文学) to the rest of the world. At the same time, we could encourage western schools to try something different.

Reading international literature is an effective way of understand other people in the world. And the more we understand each other, the more beautiful the world will be.
